Let’s hope the players are up for the game, not like some of the “we’re doomed” on here…
They are gonna be fine today, and finish off Wycombe on Thursday, so chill everyone 🍺4 -
When trying to work out the various permutations of the play offs most on here we're hoping we would get Wycombe as opposed to Stockport or Orient.
We were also hoping we would finish 4th so as to get the 2nd leg at the Valley
Well that's exactly what we've got.
If we can't beat Wycombe over two legs we don't deserve to go to Wembley.
For what it's worth I'm confident we will be fine.37 -
So other than the obvious doubts over Berry, Small and Jones who else is unavailable from the squad? Chuks suspended, Leaburn out for the season Ahadme potentially injured?
Is that it? Everyone else fit?1 -

Today is the wife's 30th birthday (im annoyed the game was moved from yesterday) so trying to give her as much attention as possible before the game will probably distract me from the build up. Have booked a spa day for tomorrow to make up for me going absent this evening!!2

After a lot of mulling it over I just can’t see Wycombe being as bad as their form suggests. A sell out away end, their support is shit. All the form points to us winning. But they have a point to prove. Their main striker hasn’t scored for months.2-1 to them and a nervy 2nd leg to come2

I’m off to yoga, in the outdoors, whilst a harp is being played. It’s part of the annual fiddle fair. I hope it calms me down………. I’m not confident of that either 🙄🫣😩)

Anyone else experiencing a domestic parallel universe whereby for your other half it's just another Sunday, talking about and doing normal Sunday stuff... whereas in our reality it's one of the biggest days of the year, nerves are raised, and minds are hoping Jones and Berry will be fit?13

Along with Wycombe being due a result, I’m now sitting here thinking the home team is also due a result.
Think I need to cut all that out and just focus on our game as a standalone

If everyone is fit and we play our strongest team we will win the game. COYR.

Not nervous here, I keep thinking back to the Crawley defeat in December thinking another season of struggle so the turnaround since is remarkable.
If we keep it to a goal I'd fancy us to overturn a deficit at home2 -

So dont mind too much if this game ends in a draw6 -

I've just watched the 22/23 Sheff Wed v Posh semi.
3rd v 6th. They finished 19points above them so the form book suggested Sheff would walk it.
They came through in end. ....but bloody hell! The noise at Hillsborough for the second leg was something I think you only really hear in a play off semi.
Not sure my blood pressure could take it all!1 -
1-1 us with a late equaliser take it to a winner takes all decider at home2

Excited but also nervous for the game. I've no doubt their manager will be using the 4-0 defeat as motivation for Wycombe to sort themselves out. If we score early they might crumble given their recent run of form, but equally if they score early they'll grow in belief and it could become a very tough 90 minutes for us.
I'm expecting a tight cagey game as both sides will still want to be in the tie on Thursday night. I'd take a 1-1 as i fully expect to beat them in front of a sold out Valley.1 -

Whether we like it or not, social media is now the main shop window for the club — it’s how we project our identity, attract new fans, and keep the wider football world tuned in. So yes, what goes out does matter. I don’t have an X (Twitter) account myself, but that doesn’t mean I want to see utter tripe being served up on the club’s official channels. As Brazilance quite rightly said, we want to be seen as “Gold Star” off the pitch — sadly, the recent ticket chaos and that bizarre promo video felt more “Poundland and Popcorn.”
Having worked in sport-related marketing and promotions, I’m genuinely baffled how this stuff even sees daylight. Who wrote that script? Who thought, “Yes, that’s the tone we’re going for”? And who nodded along in the final edit like it was a Cannes-worthy masterpiece?
If Charlton are serious about stepping up — both on and off the pitch — the senior management team (SMT) need to ask a few hard questions. Working for our national broadcaster on major events, I can tell you: this wouldn’t have made it past the intern’s inbox. We're not asking for Spielberg, just something that doesn’t make the club look like it’s being run by a committee of Muppets (and not the good ones from the balcony!).
Let’s aim higher — because our fans deserve better, and the club’s legacy certainly does. At the very least, let's avoid becoming the next viral sensation for all the wrong reasons.

I'm not thinking of Wembley or the second leg at home. The lads need to perform to their best as Wycombe will be up for it. Quietly confident though. COYR1
