This thread, honestly.
Today is exciting. It's what we've been hoping for and looking forward to for months now. Enjoy it, good or bad.
If people are having so much trauma over the first leg of the semi final then I genuinely fear for them come final day.
Grow some bollocks and stop behaving like a bunch of pussies.34 -

Some mentions of wives on here. Mine has just asked what time she needs to be out the apartment for, she is the biggest jinx on the planet and knows whenever Charlton are playing she has to go out for a couple of hours. Tbf, it does not take much persuading with living in the Algarve and glasses of wine at €1.50 a pop on our doorstep!14

Main aim today is just to keep it tight and take our chances when they come.
Home game is the one that matters, just can't go into it behind.5 -
I wasn't nervous until I read this thread and I'm off to work at 2pm, home by 8.30

6 years today since my CAFC supporting nan (our first generation) was buried, she came to 98 final with us, be tremendous if I get to do the same with my son and dad in 3 weeks time. Anxious and emotional today, COYR12

I think a lot of the nerves stem from the amount riding on this. We’ve been in this knobby division way too long and these play offs represent a good opportunity for the club to progress.
But if we don’t win them we know we’re going to lose a few good players meaning we have to build again. There won’t be any guarantee of promotion next year.
it’s the momentum of our progression that is at stake so, for a club of our size, it feels maybe more critical for us than our opponents with no disrespect to them whatsoever.4 -

Whether we like it or not, social media is now the main shop window for the club — it’s how we project our identity, attract new fans, and keep the wider football world tuned in. So yes, what goes out does matter. I don’t have an X (Twitter) account myself, but that doesn’t mean I want to see utter tripe being served up on the club’s official channels. As Brazilance quite rightly said, we want to be seen as “Gold Star” off the pitch — sadly, the recent ticket chaos and that bizarre promo video felt more “Poundland and Popcorn.”
Having worked in sport-related marketing and promotions, I’m genuinely baffled how this stuff even sees daylight. Who wrote that script? Who thought, “Yes, that’s the tone we’re going for”? And who nodded along in the final edit like it was a Cannes-worthy masterpiece?
If Charlton are serious about stepping up — both on and off the pitch — the senior management team (SMT) need to ask a few hard questions. Working for our national broadcaster on major events, I can tell you: this wouldn’t have made it past the intern’s inbox. We're not asking for Spielberg, just something that doesn’t make the club look like it’s being run by a committee of Muppets (and not the good ones from the balcony!).
Let’s aim higher — because our fans deserve better, and the club’s legacy certainly does. At the very least, let's avoid becoming the next viral sensation for all the wrong reasons.

A closely-fought, atritional, war, with two sides, impossible to separate, battling for every inch, in a dogged fight, in which Charlton scrape a 6-0 win.0
