"A clean sheet at Adams Park to take back to Valley Parade". FFS Sky, we're not Bradford

Annoying, I grant you, but this is the one day of the year that I’ll forgive that.  Valley Parade is an important place on 11th May.
    RIP the 56.
In many senses though, that's all the more reason to get it right.

Should be compulsory for the ref on Thursday to watch a replay of that match to see all the cheating wycombe do and which players are the worst culprits so he is more correct than the one today who was, again, shite.

That co-comms infuriated me. So glad that will be the only playoff game I watch on TV, whether we are at the final or not
    Bit harsh on Brownie  ;)
  • Charlton did very well not to be drawn in by the constant niggling and intimidation; the players will be aching all over for the next couple of days.

Unless I missed it did they not even ask jones if it was a red card?

Good point this. Notts County last night fell foul to this and have lost their best player at 1-0 down going into the second leg as a result.

Echo what we are all saying. Decent result. Not pretty. Hopefully at home we will have a bit too much for them. Hope Ramsey and Jones recover well. UTA.

Wycombe were pretty physical and if there was VAR Kone might have seen red. Happy with the draw,we didn't really start playing until Small came on.

Chuks is back Thursday as well to score the winner

Score early at The Valley and I think Wycombe will struggle to find a way back.
  • Crap ref.
    Crap game.
    Take the draw.
Gonna be a rocking Valley for part two.
From the match preview thread, my wife just got back pissed and with a Portuguese geezer called Jinxy!

Didn't ask Dodds either, instead just pushed for the usual generic quotes and clichés managers give.

    Worried about Ramsay's injury.

Wycombe a thoroughly hateable bunch of cloggers. Hope we fucking ruin them.
It’s bizarre because they played some lovely football in the first half of the season
    Different manager though.

Even the Wycombe fans have been critical of the new guys style of play, which is basically dull, defensive, not scoring many.

Terrible dirty clogging shit bags, I will take that result though. Back to the Valley and get the place bouncing with an early goal or two (PS ref was shite)

    PWR.

    Positives

We didn't win so no pressure for "4 on the trot" at Wembley.

We didnt lose & with our home form you'd like to think we are favourites.

    Negatives

We only have one creative player (TC). If he isn't on song, or is fouled all game, then we are pretty toothless up front.

We have no attacking options off the bench.

Midfield simply hoof it forward. More up & unders than a Rugby League match.

theres no doubt why their attendances are so small if this is the kind of football they like to serve up

Wycombe,...scummy Club with scummy players, Kone and Udoh should both have seen red, Kone stamped on Ramsey's ankle and Udoh gave Macca a forearm smash, this ref was an absolute disgrace to the profession, and needs pulling over the coals by the authorities.
Just wondering if there could be reds dished out retrospectively.
We will stuff this lot Thursday at The Valley in front of a sell out crowd, they won't know what's hit 'em, bring it on...

Tough game. Our defence excelled. Lloyd Jones is immense. Not one to take for granted.

Kone should have seen red. He couldn't handle regularly being tackled and outskilled by Ramsay. I was disappointed with Doc and TC today in terms of their quality with the ball today. Look forward to seeing Small start on Thursday. I'd say Small will be more game against Grimmer who is always up for a tough physical battle.

I would have taken a draw before the game. Anybody who thought we would smash them thinks about the game directly through emotion and excitement!

Refs are scared of making big calls in these sort of games even if warranted. Easier to say I missed it.

Not sure what to make of that. Would have taken 0-0 at the start, but what an uninspiring performance. I worry that we’re not as good as we think we are. Definitely finished the stronger and they were happy to take the draw at the end.
It was a good advert for League 1, as in that’s what league 1 is like.
    Not looking forward to Thursday.

You'd like to think that, given there's no other matches going on and how crucial the play-offs are, the EFL would send their best men to officiate these games, but apparently not. He was just what we've grown accustomed to at this donkey level.

Stood up to their bully boy tactics. Awful refereeing.

We needed a spark somewhere. TC needs to stop cutting back.
Drop TC to the bench & use him as an impact sub with 20 to go.

Play Dixon instead. Give them something different & unknown to deal with.
If jones actually did this you would be the first to complain

Great performance by Charlton. Mike Dodds, clearly told his players to rough us up and kick it long, when they run out of steam by chasing a succession of long balls, Charlton dominated. If anyone thinks that Wycombe were the better side, then look at the shots count. No better inspiration to the Charlton players on Thursday than showing them the foul by Kones on Ramsay and Udoh smacking Gillesphey in the face. If I were a Wycombe fan I'd be questioning Dodds tactics, as they are not a long ball side. Lets hope we can finish the job on Thursday and hopefully finish Dodds job as well.

Who else thought Grimmer was MOTM?
Co-commentator has to give it to a home player. As none really stood out she just pick a name out. Another 10 mins & Norris would have got it
