Hermans Hermits - No Milk Today?

I think this thread could descend into naming every song released between 60 and 79 at this rate, at least I ain't gotta eat me van!0 -
but none of these songs have the sound I'm trying to describe - a single, deep bass note played on a woodwind instrument or possibly just a really low guitar chord - which is the predominant hook throughout the songBIG_ROB said:Hermans Hermits - No Milk Today?

Is it similar to the bass on the BBC's Grand Prix theme (which I think is by Fleetwood Mac)? Just trying to get an idea of the chord.

I would guess walk on the wild side but assume you know that song.
Herbie Hancock bass line0 -
Small Faces - Itchicoo Park?0

It's not recognisable as a guitar chord like The Grand Prix theme - although it might be a fuzz bass or something & it's not a riff - just a single note that repeats at intervals throughout the song..March51 said:Is it similar to the bass on the BBC's Grand Prix theme (which I think is by Fleetwood Mac)? Pretend you are an Ocean Liner - make the noise the ships horn would make as it sets sail from the Quay Side - thats the sound of the repeating bass note March!
It's quite a well known song I think...
Not Walk On the Wild Side or Itchycoo Park.....0 -

My guess would be Seaside Shuffle by Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs0

When you talk about the ships horn, all I can think of is English Rose by The Jam, but I know this is not the song you're on about......0

Billy don't be a hero - Paper lace ?0
-
Sea cruise by Frankie Ford0
-
I name that tune in 7 notes.0

Pink Floyd - Arnold Layne0

For future reference, if you have a smart phone, download shazam, as this will find the track for you. Doesn't help with this one though......................................
