  • Heard earlier, just got in.
Very sad, thought/hoped He was on the mend...was hoping to see him for the palace game for a drink or several pre-match.
As said above, "Proper CAFC", Home & Away.
Had me in fits of laughter on many away days on the train.

    RIP Captain, Never forgotten.

Just in and had received a text to let me know. Such sad news to end the year. When someone who lived very much for enjoying his days out, home and away, with Charlton and his many friends among his group leaves us, it's a sad day for all of us.

Ian - take care mate. And Rest in Peace Captain.

Gutted to hear this. He went so quick. As said before he wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I liked him cause at heart few loved Charlton more. Not even 6 months have passed since I was on the beer with him against Sporting in Lepe. He got there a day earlier and in that time every bar knew him and was glad to see him as we went round drinking.

Was one of a kind few like him left in football circles.

    RIP captain

RIP captain. No drunken train journey home from an obscure part of the country will ever be the same.

  • Remember him mostly from the Ireland pre-season after we'd just won the play-offs - he made for a great week. RIP
