New kit next season (picture on Page 36)

I'm generally not as bothered by keeping tradition as others and I'm fine with a different type of kit than the standard red shirt, white shorts....
But this one is incredibly ugly.1 -
Don't like it, its a Rugby league/Orient kit not a Charlton one, the most offensive thing are the white sleeves.3
-
Is this a 2 season kit? Hope it's only a season kit because I would like Charlton to wear Red0
-
I wouldn't worry, we only do short term these days2
-
Past seasons have had lifers moaning about how our new kit has simply been tweaked from previous designs and does not warrant a total replacement. Now we are moaning that it is now "too red or too white". Charlton play in red and white and have done - in varying degrees - since I started watching in 1964.
There will never be total agreement on an ideal new kit and I think this one will grow on the fans. If we have a successful season wearing it I will be happy.4 -
Awful.1
-
It'll change next year regardless. If we are still with Nike then it's in our contract with them that the kit has to change very season.BigRedEvil said:Is this a 2 season kit? Hope it's only a season kit because I would like Charlton to wear Red

I'm just super picky about the home kit, its the club tradition, we are a club that wears red shirts, white shorts, red socks. We have no past of having a V on the shirt like Orient, or white sleeves like Arsenal and Rotherham.
Do what you like with the away kit, I don't really give a shit about that, the home shirt should remain traditional.15 -
Red shirt, white shorts. Not too difficult is it.
Does anyone know if there is a reason we've got red shorts?4 -
I hope they change it although they won't.2

Awful.2

Id assumed the red shorts are due to the heavy amount of white on the shirt but maybe not, either way i still really hate this kit.Croydon said:Red shirt, white shorts. Not too difficult is it.

ooooofor feck sake its Arsenal !!3

As I've mentioned before, Cardiff fans did a petition to get their shorts changed last summer due to unhappiness from supporters, and the club did it.
If someone has the time, surely we should do the same instead of just moaning about it on here?
However, I doubt anything will change even if we do get thousands of signatures.
Is this something the Trust could do @razil????0 -
it's something to do with not being able to get those really difficult stains out of the white shorts.Croydon said:Red shirt, white shorts. Not too difficult is it.

apparently the current washing powder we use has been on a consultation period in the last month and is expected to be replaced by a Belgian washing powder which washes red shorts better at 40 degrees.

the front of the top isn't exactly spectacular but the whole kit really works and when the team is wearing it on the pitch i think people will change their minds quickly. also the entire back is red so it wont look 'too white' once its on.5

Whilst I don't like the kit, there's more important things that the Trust should be doing, such as asking the board to clarify the club's transfer policy and maybe even providing asking them to provide a response to Alex Dyer's parting shots.Ross said:As I've mentioned before, Cardiff fans did a petition to get their shorts changed last summer due to unhappiness from supporters, and the club did it.

There's too much white as it is without changing the shorts as well1
-
Interesting that some people say it's not great but it doesn't matter. Surely it has to be desirable for fans to want to wear it and increase revenue?
I'd be very interested to hear from someone like Airman as to how much the kits bring in commercially though.0 - Sponsored links:

Bobby Peeters mainly white army8
-
It's far too Arsenal for my liking. Too many kids ( and fat adults) around my way wear that red top with white sleeves.
Yuk

Not one of our best, looks a bit rugby league to me.0

Not sure why the UOG would use a 'neutral' typeface like Helvetica Bold
Okay it reads okay, but is regarded as 'neutral' in effect.
Why did they not use there corporate logo?.

I love it - it looks the kit we used in around '64/65 (not that I was born then). So I'm thinking 'A Hard Day's Night' 'Dr Strangelove' 'The Kinks' 'Billy Bonds' etc etc etc3
-
Can't be bothered to trawl through the previous six pages but my initial reaction is; No, no, no! Looks like Goonershite from the back and is the worst home kit since the all white with red shoulder flashes of the sixties not to mention the red shorts and hooped socks wtf :-( We are red shirts, white trim, white shorts and red socks with white tops ffs.3
-
A big no from me.0
-
Nope, not for me. Really don't like it. At all.
Roly out!0 -
It's a brave new world. I like it. A lot. Its got a slight touch of a rugby league look about it but hey, no one moans about Oasis ripping off the Beatles.0
-
At least they have not changed it to BLUE !!0
