Another new arrival at Blackpool - they've snapped up striker Ishmael Miller on a free transfer after a successful trial period. The 27-year-old was available after leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season, following a loan spell at Yeovil. Miller has signed a one-year deal at Bloomfield Road, with the option of a further 12 months.

squad starting to come together now0 -
They seem to be assembling a squad good enough to have a chance of staying up now but still not much fun with these signings for a Blackpool fan.
I suspect they will spend next season more concerned with a change of ownership in time for next summer then enjoying the football.0 -
I presume the outfield players will draw straws to see who goes in goal for that game...0
-
Dunno I reckon Blackpool could be underestimated this season after their early Pre-Season troubles...0

Still a paper thin squad that will struggle after injuries, suspensions, etc,etc0
-
good luck to Jose i say ..hes got a contract ,if it all goes wrong its down to the owner if it all goes well he performs miracles and the bigger clubs come ater him1
-
What i dont get is that there are plenty of out of contract players out there that could perform in the bottom of the championship and earn reasonable wages, read something about Riga trying to bring in some Belgians but the owner just refuses signings that don't go via certain agents.0

Blackpool are at last getting some bodies in but, given the importance of a good pre-season, I do wonder what sort of physical condition some of the free agents are in. Nor is it easy to get a bunch of strangers to gel, although the fact that everyone has written them off may work in their favour.0
-
Just seen this looks like a few fans think he was signed to please Riga, and they have not tried getting a work permit for him

I know it has been mentioned on another thread but seriously looks like he might not come back from his holiday

Jose needs to stay another 7 games, no one wants a worse record than Appleton0
-
Seven games, seven degrees of separation!0 -
If he does not, does that mean that Appleton picture that keeps getting used will be replaced by RigaKap10 said:Jose needs to stay another 7 games, no one wants a worse record than Appleton

I always thought the Appleton picture was used because he kept getting jobs in spite of not having a good record, whereas Jose's record suggests he probably should be given a chance somewherepaulie8290 said:

On football focus just now they said that Owen Coyle was replacing Jose Riga as Blackpool manager0
-
If Jose Riga lands a job this side of Christmas then that will be a very good outcome for him. I was surprised he wasn't mentioned in the frame for Huddersfield...
The longer he stayed at Blackpool the more he would have been associated with failure.
I wish him well for the way he came in and delivered survival for us with some decent football.0 -
