I disagree, De Gea was fantastic in Spain I felt it was due to the quick tempo and the game being played a lot in the air as one of his biggest problems as he was particularly dodgy with crosses. Valdes for me, although he is experienced, he has never impressed me and I think it is very easy to get by as an average goalkeeper in a team like Barca. Only time will tell and he is on a free so it's risk free for them in that sense. If he does get a chance if de gea get injured I would put money on him losing them more points than he gains. The Red Robin said:
Not sure if it was a case of De Gea adapting to the English game, more a young keeper still learning and Utd sticking by him and investing time in coaching. I'm sure Valdes would be fine, he's certainly experienced enough as a backup.NomadicAddick said:victor valdes to united as back up to de gea...if he is going to take as long to adapt to english game as de gea then i see no point in signing him.

I was just about to make a hilarious "More chance of signing Peter Capaldi" joke, when you spoilt it for me :-)MickeyBennett said:Genuinely amazed some wag hasn't made a Dr Who joke yet.

Be happy with Smith or Blackstock. Blackstock never struck me as a proper target man, I've always seen him more as a player with good movement than a hold-up man, but he's definitely a player capable of turning a game. Like a knock off Ricardo Fuller. Smith could well be the lump we need, though with a central midfielder at left midfield and a left footed attacker at rid mid, he'd better expect to receive the ball with his back to goal and hold it rather than crash some headers in as I don't think the crosses will be there. Excited to see if these pan out1

Agree on Valdes being average. Like you said, easy to look in good in a team as good as Barcelona.NomadicAddick said:

I've just been checking out his Twitter account and he seems to be mates with Hogan Ephraim. I wonder if they've discussed his time at Charlton?Callumcafc said:He's always a pain in the arse to play against. If he's fit, I'd expect Forest will want to keep him.

Rumours in Hungary that Krisztian Simon, a winger from Ujpest is on trial with us according to a Ujpest fan on Twitter.
Was at Wolves when he was younger and had a loan spell at Feyenoord in 2011.0 -

23 year old Hungarian international. 18 goals in 96 for Ujpest. And just type that paragraph into google translate and see what it says0 -
From his Facebook page via Google translate. This seems to suggest we turned him down....
Continue to emphasize other lures in the English class Krisztián Simon Charlton Athletic , the New Pest players . Csakfoci.hu the same time they know that the purple winger almost certainly not move the szigetországiakhoz . The reason is that the test you want to see the game asking footballer , as well as the terms of the contract offered to him inadequate .

We have written in mid-December that the second English -League Krisztián Simon Charlton want to acquire .
Our website has learned that the szigetországiak continue to emphasize the allure New Pest winger , but he is wary of the possibility , so almost certainly not justified Duchatelet the family of another club . I know this is partly because of the Charlton game trial to test Simon, on the other hand offered in accordance with the terms of the contract nor footballer .
The footballer Dárdai St. Paul stable frame members from the national team , and even the possibility of resulting matches respectively . Simon, if appropriate, would like to try himself abroad , but the British seem to offer not say yes . (Photo: ujpestfc.hu )0 -
It says he thought the terms of the contract were inadequate. Perhaps he turned us down0

Believe he's quite well thought of. Would be a good second option IMO. Need a FIFA rating from Paulie to properly confirm thisCallumcafc said:

Can't get overly excited about this.

Spoke to my Gills supporting mate. He said he's a solid league one player no thrills no spills. Solid defensively but not too much going forward lacks pace. Reckons he will be out of depth in the championship.Callumcafc said:Joe Martin the Gillingham left back?
Sounds like Morgan Fox...0 -
Emmanuel-Thomas is shite and lazy. No thanks0
