Appreciate that it's not fair on those who have just paid full price to suddenly offer heavy discounts.
But on the flip side, they have just announced that there will be new kits next season, yet the current versions are still on sale in the club shop at full price. Who is going to buy them knowing that they are only valid for two more games, and that the 'new' ones will go on sale at exactly the same price? Assuming we wear red at Birmingham, that black away shirt has already been worn by the first team for the last time!

No. Just Sport have a license to supply Nike team wear. They also have their own brand called AvecKap10 said:

& I hate to post a Palace kit but for 2013-14, they got the below from Avec. I particularly like that the Avec logo is at the hem of the shirt rather than the front:

We should definitely go back to one of the smaller suppliers once the Nike deal is over. Nike, Adidas, Puma etc might make some nice bespoke kits for the big clubs but, while we outside the Prem at least, we will only get one of their stock kits. Personally, I want Charlton to be the only one's playing in our kit.3

As a small club we have other problems with having a bespoke kit. It is difficult/expensive to get numbers in the club shop quickly and due to the costs associated with production the economies of scale are not there so the unit price rises. Now it's, entirely, possible that the benefits that come with the economies of scale are swallowed by the manufacturer, but it's also possible that we would, actually, make more money from a kit that looks like other clubs (from one of the bigger manufacturers) that we would from a small club that makes us an original.
From the perspective of associated clothing I'd be more inclined to buy something from a brand that I normally buy from than a name that I've never heard of and disappears in no time. Maybe it's us, but many of the previous manufacturers we've had don't seem to be trading anymore - a bit like the sponsors.0 -

I wonder if the club came out with a £25 shirt they would be able to offset the lower profit margin with higher volume. Obviously someone like Nike would not allow it, but maybe a local manufacturer.0 -

We had Admiral 1988-1991 think it was. Grey away shirt, admiral logos down the sleeves. The second (relegation) home shirt was really nice. Small collar, simple design. It looked great in the Chelsea win when Morts scored a cracker.1
