perhaps its time fifth gear was revived, with three new presenters who happen to be recently out of work..1

Good choice, I would like to see Guy Martin as a co presenter as well.
Perry would be good too.0 -
I suspect Guy Martin and Suzi Perry will be the other co-presenters. All motoring enthusiasts, which is a good start0

But who else will be on the team?JollyRobin said:One of those wait and see situations. Hopefully it's the model that made it successful and not the characters, but we just don't know at this point. I don't enjoy Clarkson's politics, I think he's a bigoted old man, but he was an excellent host of Top Gear.
The saddest part will be that we won't see a return of James May.
I'm guessing,in typical Beeb fashion, one will be a woman and one will be of ethnic heritage.

I'm going for Guy Martin and Rusty Lee3

Where else have they done that?carly burn said:

If Suzy Perry does it, I can see Top Gear becoming a bit like Countryfile after a while. We'll see.0

Apologies @charltonkeston. I think he's a bigoted middle aged man.charltonkeston said:

I'd find a spot for Robbie Savage - as the annoying fool - James May would compliment Evans and Savage quite well and provide a link to the past show and the show needs a sensible captain slow type. He is saying he hadn't ruled himself out in the press. If they can't get those- Jimmy Bullard and Carl Fogarty could work. Getting the ingredients right is so important - whatever people thought of them individually, there was a chemistry between Clarkson, May and Hammond that made the show. I think the mistake the BBC might make is to start thinking it is about cars!2

Robbie Savage would be brilliant as the Stig . We would never see his face or hear his whiny voice with that helmet on. In fact he could be called "The Helmet " instead.MuttleyCAFC said:I'd find a spot for Robbie Savage - as the annoying fool - James May would compliment Evans and Savage quite well and provide a link to the past show and the show needs a sensible captain slow type. Guy Martin is brilliant . He did a documentary this year when he rode through India ( a clip below) . A very infectious character and would be brilliant.cafcnick1992 said:I've never, ever heard of Guy Martin
Chris Evens said this morning on his breakfast show that he would like Guy Martin but would Guy Martin wan't to do it?
One of the presenters will be a newbie to TV as well . They are holding auditions for members of the public soon.https://youtu.be/6sk_SWVmMfo

As much as I'm a fan of Guy Martin, the bloke talks faster than he rides and I really struggle to understand him. I dare anyone (not from the north) to be able to understand him without subtitles..........2
-
I like Guy Martin a lot but I think he's better suited to making proper factual television - a kind of modern day Fred Dibnah, rather than cocking around with rusty Ford Cortina's. Apart from anything else he's a proper mechanic and would actually be able to fix the things up.0

Didn't he shoot the travelling community members that burgled his house , perfect choice in my opinion , a man with the balls to shoot those who want to nick from his home , glad he ain't still in nick , always thought he should have been given a payment for his community action and removal of vermin0

It is revived lol. On the History Channel now I believe. The fact that no one knows that shows how successful it has been....razil said:perhaps its time fifth gear was revived, with three new presenters who happen to be recently out of work..

The last cobbled together episode was a hard watch, is it all over now?0

I don't even like Clarkson, May or Hammond but that for me was almost the point of the show. Three ridiculous aging men who like cars.
Still think they should have just banned him for a year or something unless they wanted rid.

Great show in its time. Sadly below par towards the end but that is why things end right?
Clarkson wanted out IMO and the other two, through loyalty or just plain boredom followed to the exit. All three will be seen again to the faux "disgust" of all self righteous pricks who want to share their opinions about just anything.
Goodbye Top Gear, the ginger twat will kill all good memories of a bit of fun and self indulgence for 1 hour on BBC2 on a Sunday evening.0 -

I hope there won't be any reverse parking on the show, or maybe that can be one of Stigs new job in the "reshuffle"Swisdom said:

Suzi Perry was in the T.F.I audience last week. wouldn't be surprised if one of the others is her.The_President said:Wonder who the other two will be?
I reckon they'll chuck in a woman
Another option would be some of their repeat guests - rowan Atkinson and steve Coogan maybe0 -
My, you're as clever as you think you are... well done.cafcfan said:

I think the BBC will have their work cut out. Top Gear stopped being about cars long ago and became about the relationships between the presenters and their staged adventures, which whether you liked them or not, was enjoyable enough television. I don’t think you can transplant all three and achieve the same effect. The BBC would have been best replacing Clarkson with a total bell end like Robbie Savage and keeping May and Hammond. Bell Ends are not too hard to replace and that was Clarkson’s role. It might not have worked but will have stood more chance I suspect than the new format.0
-
The other presenters will be Clare balding and Dominic littlewood. They are on every other show.0
-
All this stuff about the relationships between the presenters is nonsense to me. They really weren't that special, and the scripts pretty much just played to one stereotype with every joke. "Here's James May! He's slow and badly dressed! Here's the little guy. And Jeremy is mouthy!" - why is that so clever? After a decade, the jokes were the same. It didn't get built on, it didn't even have a running joke, just repetition. The things they did varied, but the jokes were always the same. Maybe it won't work with other presenters, but that's only because repetition has led to familiarity. Nothing more.
It's emperors' new clothes. Someone said it about them once and it's being repeated. The show's writing simply wasn't that clever. It didn't once show any wit or even pathos between them. Nothing developed relationship-wise despite how long it went on, which is quite incredible.
It was a safe format and they stuck with it, and that's fine but it wasn't anywhere near as clever as is being claimed. The best thing about the show was the way it was shot, which had nothing to do with those three.

It wasn't a play in the West End, Jimmy!1
