Friend of mine is a die hard Spurs fan, he works at White Hart Lane conducting the stadium tours. Here is what he had to say:

"Technically very good, small, impish, creative. Can get knocked about a bit and partial to the odd sloppy pass but could, with a good seasons worth of competitive football be a real steal. Good luck to you boys!"

Well that's big thumbs up from a demanding bunch of fans at Spurs, so that'll do me. Definitely starting to look interesting in a positive way.

My Spurs mate says he's like a cross between Lionel Blair and Mr Messy.
  • He also has a fine missus.

He also has a fine missus.

If he's a good player he can be a zoophilliac IMHO
  • Since him play a few times for Spurs u21s. Good on the ball, very lightweight off it, so we'll need the two defensive midfielders behind him. I hope he's been in the gym this summer, but I'm pleased with this signing.
  • Im excited by this signing, good to see how positive the Spurs fan are about him, similar to Sunderland fans about Ba.

    Welcome to the club.

This was the name being mentioned out in St Truiden.

Counts as a home grown player too due to years at Spurs. Will be important given how many non-home grown players we have while needing 9 in the 18.

Welcome and good luck, seems like something a bit different to what we have.

Yeah but no but you said we couldn't sign nobody coz of what woz done wrong like 2 fecking million years ago.

My mate asked a guy who watches a lot of spurs youth games

Windy is normally spot on too. He does a lot of work on The Fighting Cock podcast but he writes a blog primarily on the u18s and u21s. He said all along that Kane & Bentaleb would be as good as they are.

Don't worry we'll be signing them too.

If you care about our club then I would suggest that maybe we should be despondent. And then work out what you can do about it. Some would say not much right now except wait for the wheels to fall off!

I don't need to wait ten games nor until August as the writing is on the wall.

    1) We are playing the return half of the season and we've been completely found out.
No number 9. Gudmundsson doesn't get to cut in and shoot or pass anymore because he is our only attacking threat and is marked / closed down every time. Nothing down the left. And Lepoint - why?!

    2) It is clear now that there is no one in charge with the requisite football knowledge. Duchatelet either thinks he knows enough and/or is scared to get someone with influence and knowledge to direct things here and at Liege.

    3) Nothing against players coming and going from the network but someone should have identified what we needed to start winning games and then go out and sign them FFS.

Sorry to break the news but every one of our opponents is going to think we are a soft touch from now on in. I'm not saying we have a divine right to beat Rotherham but that was poor and, as plenty have stated, devoid of any inspiration. We've now failed to beat them, Blackpool and Millwall at home. There was nothing today that we haven't seen throughout the last few months. Nothing there!

It's starting to look like Jiminez and Slater knew more about how to run the football side of the club than Duchatelet. These random signings and complete failure to improve the attacking threat after a year in charge makes Duchatelet's decision to buy the club look more weird every week.

Why sink in £20m+ to end up with this outcome one year down the road? We are 18th again which is where Riga left us in May.

But I would maintain we are in a much worse place because of the direction of travel. And last season we were able to beat clubs at the bottom. This season we are a known entity with a board who are "trying to do something a little different". That appears to ignore the fundamentals in that you need attacking threat to make chances, chances to make goals and goals win games.

And to build that takes cash, an experienced talented coach plus leadership at the club. What some have known for a while but was cruelly exposed by the Luzon appointment and the "interview on the train" is that we have no leadership at the club. Just an administrative puppet who executes the actions requested by someone playing championship manager with us in another country.

Sure this is a shift change for my commentary. But until November 2014 I could see rational decisions and progress. Now I just see an owner out of his depth who is either too arrogant and/or lacks insight to appoint a director of football / head coach who has the technical ability, gravitas and experience to make something happen.

Riga delivered and was shown the door - says it all!

Not long now for the percentages as well. Do you want to give us a little pre season teaser as it stands now. I'd be interested to then compare it with how we end.

Am pleasantly surprised with this signing. Left footed players are always better :)

Has played for two of Europe's biggest clubs so my only concern is that he won't be ready for the north stand roar.

Also, can someone with the skillz do a voiceover on his welcome clip ?
At the end when he puts his two thumbs up in sync with Jay Cartwright's ' Ohww Frwwwwend'

Although I know next to nothing about this guy I am excited by the prospect of finally having a flair player in our MF.

    Just one question..

Rumors circulating on CL some days ago indicated that Ceballos would come here on loan from Spurs but we now know it is permanent. Was he still on Spurs books when we signed him and subsequently released from his contract or has he always been a free agent and the initial rumour was incorrect?

I think the loan was incorrect. He was a free agent all along.

Some numpty claiming to be in the know said it was a loan, having not bothered to even check if he was in contract
