Played well but should have scored more than one, as should Simon.

We hadn't scored for 5 matches so i will take 3 goals and winning the game !

Reza ran himself into the ground and he passed the ball to JBG who found Simon in the 6 yard box with a tap in.

Also Reza scored in the 6 yard box.

His best ever game for CAFC.
His first league goal at the Valley.
Great reception from the crowd when he came off.
    Dazzler21 must be on cloud 9 ?
  • It's his first good game for the club

Other than when he maybe should have had a couple in his first match against Wigan or Leeds when he grabbed the winner.

He's taken time to settle with us but has always shown glimses of what he did today.

I liked how he didnt get stroppy either when Jackson berated him in the 2nd Half (Not sure what it was for though, maybe because he didnt commit a foul on the Wednesday breakaway sooner)

Very good movement and commitment. Well done Reza. Thought the two up front played really well.

Reza linked intelligently with both Mak and JBG and unlike TWWW worked really hard closing down and pressing the back line.

I had always thought he was a little selfish in possession but was a real team player today really well done Reza.
  • Out of contract in June. Cue another unknown forward unused to the English game who will take a season to bed in.

  • Best game I have seen from him. Always thought he was a waste of time but fair play, he was very good and tried 100% today. Maybe a contract running down is focussing his mind?

Ssh don't let Dazzler hear you say that.

Reza is underrated. He's had 2 spells with us and both times we've been in a relegation battle. People call him lightweight but he is what he is. A nippy small guy who can finish - he's never going to be a Mick Harford.

    He couldn't finish a breakfast.
    He finished Sheffield Wednesday today...

Well that explains why he's lightweight then.

Makienok and Reza were the first Charlton strikers who actually played together as a partnership for a while. Watt doesn't really do strike partnerships. It was refreshing to see and made such a difference with JBG combining well. Alongside Makienok, Reza really put in a shift and had real hunger. He chased and harried, tackled back which helped the midfield. I particularly liked when Reza did a punitive tackle on Forestieri, taking his legs away after Forestieri's nasty tackle on Ba a few minutes earlier. Didn't get booked for it, fortunately. Reza was responsible for at least 1/3 of Charlton's 15 fouls. Reza stayed on his feet and got caught offside much less as well today. Great performance from Reza. Playing like that, you can see how he gets picked by the national team.

Pleased to see him finish off a really good team move in the 6 yard box team. I think that his first home league goal at the Valley. Next targets, keep up that intensity and performance for the next away and home game, and score a goal in front of the Covered End home supporters. Keep it up.

How many minutes did he play in those games? Did he get any decent supply in those games? Reza = World Cup hero!

He worked really hard. Very impressed yesterday.
  • Also it's the first time he's been asked to lead the line! Normally he has been shoved out wide or as a second striker! Yesterday he was the main man and clearly that's the way to get the best from him!
  • There was one moment when Reza got the ball and without looking played a diagonal ball... Makienok was instantly there to collect the ball and we almost had a chance.

Was really nice to see two of our Strikers playing telepathically like that and hopefully can continue

I don't know why people cite that Wigan at home performance. I was at Leeds away and he was dreadful apart from the goal.

Yesterday he actually looked like he had a bit of quality. Still needs to eat a few more Big Macs and strengthen up, but certainly two weeks in Birmingham (I'm going), I won't shudder when his name is read out

Ran his socks off. Glad he scored. More of the same please.

I have to agree with you, firstly I have always rated Reza (Look at his performances for Iran in the World Cup), and have always thought a fit and up for it Reza who was played in his correct position could do well for us.
  • Think there is a lot of ability there but he just needs to decide that he wants to play here in England and everything that goes with it. Once that happens I think Reza will be a very useful player for us.

Is it me or did he look a bit more tough and savvy?

There were one or two times he seemed to go flying in to opposition players, I think he took one or two out completely. That's not something I expected from him at all, I was very pleasantly surprised. He appeared to be a complete pain in the ass for their defenders as well, and was in some very good positions. His overall play showed he had a good eye for a pass, knew when to release the ball and when to keep it, and he just looked very neat.

A very good performance and a totally deserved applause when he left the pitch. I was actually chuffed to bits for him when he was subbed, I looked around and he was getting applause from all over the place. It can't have been easy for him either, I'm sure he must've been aware that he wasn't the most popular player.

    Well done Reza.
  • Hopefully the re emergence of Reza will cause Watt to up his game and get back to his best form.
