Could you imagine this past few seasons without JJ? The man bleeds Charlton9

Pretty sure THD signed a three year deal not long ago. Not sure of Lookman's age and whether he can sign a contract yet.Addictedoldgit said:Permission to go off thread sir! Ademola Lookman - sign him up on a long term contract immediately. Or is he still to young?
Ditto for THD.

Credit to KF he certainly doing something right. As a previous poster said it does help of you scout the opposition and go into games with some sort of plan.
12 points off the play offs....6 -
Lookman is 18.
Well old enough to sign a Pro contract.

Thought big Mak had a decent game first half.1

I said before the game that Cousins would need to do well to ensure that Ba doesnt take back his spot next week... Did he manage that?0

Fair decision. Thought Diarra and Lookman ran him close.aitchyaddick said:Tariq Holmes Dennis man of the match according to Radio London.

He gets my vote, terrific engine on the lad who seemed to spend some time on the left but was all over place really and worked hard along with Diarra and JJ to win the midfield battle.ForeverAddickted said:I said before the game that Cousins would need to do well to ensure that Ba doesnt take back his spot next week... Not sure who is in charge of tactics but they were spot on today. Liked the way we didn't just sit on our lead and save for a poor final ball or finish, we could easily had another couple on the break. Lookman and Vaz Te give us great flexibility, both are quick, direct and can move out wide if we're under a bit of pressure. Having Diarra sitting in front of the defence makes a huge difference. Him and Jackson with Jordan providing the legs seems to work well. Give the lads and management team credit for today as Birmingham have been performing well. Top away performance. One of the quietest grounds I've been to in a long time though.3

Stop it with that shit FFS7 -
Had a sneaky feeling this morning that we would get something. Excellent result. Despite my loathing for KM etc I would really rather that we don't get relegated thank you very much so it's good to be out of the bottom three and on a roll.aybe something the Euell and Fraeye partnership. We'll see although the principle of KF's appointment still rankles. Two defeats and we'll all be tearing our hair out again but it's nice to enjoy a Saturday night again!6

Great day for the black and white scarves as well. Plenty in evidence. Saw Joe shifting about 30 in ten minutes before kick off. Great value at £35

Back home in Manchester, supping a celebratory glass of wine, basking in a good away performance. Charlton continued with the narrow diamond formation, which seems to suit our current crop of players.
Surprised at how deep Birmingham played, they looked like the away team, often when our back four had the ball the whole of the Brum team were in their own half. The thing I was pleased about was the team performance. The interplay and passing (in an away game). was the best I've seen this season (and I've only missed MK Dons) Lookman looked lively and skilfull, with a blistering turn of pace, and no little skill. Occasional wrong option with final pass, but for his first start it was pretty impressive.
Both full backs played well. Fox was against Gray, highly rated, and Birmingham had offers from Prem teams in the summer but he decided to stay. I thought he did well to generally nullify him, although it limited his forward forays, and some of his passing out of defence was a bit erratic. Holmes-Dennis had a really impressive game, not only for his assist, but his defensive play and energy getting forward. Solly will have to up his game to get his place back on this performance.
The Bauer/Saar relationship continues to improve, this was Nabby's best performance, with no slips this time!
Diarra protected the back four well, and some of the build up play through midfield was slick. Even though we conceded ground after going 1-0 up we still ended up with greater possession stats.
Vaz Te looks like a good addition. Once he gets game time, and gets to know his team mates, I think he will do well, but give him time.
All the players were well up for it, and after initially aplauding the fans at the end, then wandering off, Freye ushered them back towards the Charlton faithful and the whole team celebrated with the fans, a good touch I thought.
Final praise for Jackson, is their a better player for busting his gut to get onto the end of a delicious cross on or around the penalty spot. Cheers Johnny. Jacko, Jacko, Jacko!

So, things are, at last, looking up. Two wins in a row - and the first away win in eons. Well done to the team, to Karel and Jason and to the fans that went to Brum. Makes things interesting for the Ipswich game, doesn't it?
Time to sit back? No. Time to be heard! Spell it out in Black and White. Keep it up. Week in, week out. Phoenix from the flames. Reclaim, Re-shape, Restore.9 -

I when out on a limb after the 3-0 defeat to Brentford and said we must keep playing Sarr alongside Bauer, with Diarra as the defensive rock in front, I'm pleased that young Sarr seems to be improving as that give Diarra class in midfield a chance to shine.
A great 3 points today, and back to back wins, with the last two youngsters to be included in the team both looking at home: Lookman and THD.
Vaz Te got 30 minutes, and another full week's training should get him fitter,
Two swallows don't make a summer, but they do shine some light on a dark period for the team. Plus i can buy the Football League paper for the first time this season after an away match !2 -
Just apologise . The Guardian comments don't help either because regardless of someone's political persuasion , rape is not something to make fun of.cafcnick1992 said:I've been victimised by using the word rape by accident then taking the piss out of myself.
