A proportionate protest - Charlton v Ipswich *Stand Up For The 2%*

Sky made it look good. All those that didn't stand up with flyer have a major problem.6

Had some proper nasty comments as I was on Floyd Rd handing out posters but it seemed generally well received. :-)1
-
How many of these posters will become paper planes?1

Home areas look about half full on tv0

I think the only way to protest properly is to boycott home games. By continuing to go it just enables the board and other than mild embarrassment for KM a couple of seconds mild protests like Black and White/ 2% posters will be ineffective in engineering change (no disrespect to all those who put the effort into it)
Nothing will change until they notice a real further drop off in attendances at home unfortunately. Whilst they're still getting your money and your arse on a seat in the ground they've got no incentive to give anything other than the lip service they are giving the Trust right now.
It's not dialogue that's needed it is a major amendment if not complete overhaul of the strategy that's required unfortunately.11 -
Boycott has to be up next. I hope Makienok, Sarr amongst others boycott with us.12

Don't worry CAST will have a chat with Katrien.13

STs not turning up doesnt make much difference, visual demos, food/ merch strike will make the owner take notice, he will have seen todays thing1
-
Course it will. By sitting in your seat it gives the impression you are consenting to the way the club is being run regardless of whether you hold a poster up for a minute or not. Boycotting sends the message bluntly and is more blatant than turning up and not buying hot dogs.razil said:STs not turning up doesnt make much difference, visual demos, food/ merch strike will hurt
Attending is enabling them to carry on with the current strategy as it is.3 -
Dont agree, message needs to reach Roland0
-
Precisely ,....and how better a message than boycott? KM will be on the blower later "Yeah a fair few held up some posters in the second minute but still cheered the team on and clapped them off so Operation clusterfuck is still well on track my dear leader as the mugs will still turn up next game."razil said:Dont agree, message needs to reach Roland
A few tame protests will make fuck all difference to Roland....a bloke who won't even afford fans the courtesy of attending to see his experiment going pear shaped. Liege fans stormed his office and it didn't make a jot of difference.
Dialogue via the Trust and tame protests will not make any difference. If you are genuinely unhappy with the strategy and running of the club then boycott home games.... nothing else with have any meaningful impact and we'll continue to slide.5 -
I reckon the attendance is 8/9,000 in home areas today, I don't think an organised boycott would really take those numbers down much more.RodneyCharltonTrotta said:

Well if that is the case and 8000 are happy with the way things are then I really fear for the future under this current lot. We'll be a Millwall that can't win derbies.se9addick said:

He watches all the games, money is where it hurts plus publicity from demos. Unless you're gonna ask for a refund it won't hit the pocket until next summer2

I'm not sure that going to a football match automatically equals approving of the way the club is being runRodneyCharltonTrotta said:

Did the protest happen? If so it was pretty poor in my opinion, not sure it really had any impact other than to show it really was only 2% that have a problem....which I'm still not entirely sure what it is? Come on Charlton!5
