See talksports 'moose' dragged himself away from the buffet to watch the procession!
He's normally on in the mornings so hopefully something from him tomorrow.

The annoying thing about a lot of the media coverage I have seen is that Middlesborough are being portrayed as the club in crisis and that the protests were a side note to their problems.

Mate if you've just lost to charlton...especially at the valley, your in a serious crisis.

True but going by some of the chip paper coverage, you'd think the fans carrying a coffin was a regular pre-match tradition!!

Just watched the Sky footage that I recorded. They really did a great job of expressing the anger of the Charlton fans.

I know I keep bringing this up - but more really needs to be made of the fact that we hired a manager from the Belgian 3rd Division.

    Could not agree more.

Was telling a couple of Boro fans in the Oak... they couldn't believe it.

And our current manager has already been sacked by our owner three times.
  • Daily Telegraph today referring to 'Boro's problems as "nothing compared to the chaos at Charlton" with coverage of the funeral, whistles, walk out and a nice big pic of the beach balls being cleared.

How's that first month in the job working out for you Mel?
  • ...oh and they did mention a fan "confronting" JBG but otherwise pretty positive in the circumstances.
  • ...oh and Alan Smith also nominated the protests as his "Moment of the Week" with another picture of @Pico et al.

He also says, "...you cannot ignore the fans". Are you watching Katie?

Not really true, he was only on a short contract here the first team. And didn't he resign from Standard Liege to take another job?

He was essentially sacked here the first team, im not sure what happened the second time at Standard Liege but assumed it may have been a similar situation.
  • Riga has never been sacked by Roland...

Towards the end of the season, Riga announced he would not be prolonging his contract with Standard. Slavoljub Muslin was announced as his successor on 5 June 2015

I was told that the "regime" asked Sky and CP to leave the pitch when the turnstiles opened - to avoid provoking the early arriving fans. Don't know if it is 100% true.

When I arrived at my seat shortly after 2pm there were a handful of Sky cameras recording which did quickly disappear, couldnt see Chris Powell down on the pitch by the tunnel nor did I any of them walking around the North Stand to their box in the East.

Wrong, Riga only had a contract until the end of the season with RD, no more no less. Riga came out and said so himself.
    So not essentially then!!

On Twitter there were a few Leeds fans saying that Charlton should stop copying them. They were quickly put in their place by many more Leeds fans, who pointed out that the two clubs are talking to each other, the funeral idea has been done many times before by different clubs (Wrexham and Preston were mentioned), and the Charlton protest was much bigger.

Makes you wonder if they checked the video embedded in that report or perhaps some of the sarf london venacular slipped through the profanity filter? Some proper Anglo Saxon in there...

"Get out of our club, get out of our club... you Belgian wankers, get out of our club"

    Love it.

"I wanna knowohohohoh why youre such a cunt"

I know he only had a contract to the end of season but whichever way you look it Roland decided not to keep him on as manager, unless you believe Colin's story that Riga's family were only prepared to leave Milan for Blackpool.

Ironic that people from Leeds are upset about other people stealing.

Every person I know who has lived there got robbed at least once a year. Just sayin...

Besides we know it's all the posh rugby-boys out in Ilkley bringing the average down

Also it is still above the national average in burglary. Although it could be higher since I doubt robbing from wheelie bins gets reported.

Really pleased this story has hit the states.

Matt White had contact from the Fox Sport news desk in Los Angeles this morning about covering Charlton's protest and using his YouTube video in the above article and would show it in their news broadcast later.

Fox Sport have shown it with all the swearing but the Daily Mail online said they would have to blur out the swearing and the journo said he couldn't get hold of the video editors today.
