Well done Richard!0

Brilliant news - well done Prague.0

@PragueAddick If I were Roland, I'd be straight in the blower asking if you'd fancy becoming the CEO for a well known SELondon football club. Fringe benefits include a mid-season break to Dubai.19
-
Congratulations @PragueAddick you have done a tremendous service to all of football and taxpayers in general, bar obviously a few WHam aficionados and local and central government big wigs.
You, Mat and the other Trusts who came together to fight this should be rewarded for your work. I expect LLDC will try and prolong this inevitability and appeal, but you are nearly there. I suspect my friends at MdR are watching closely this afternoon!!
Well done mate.5 -
I'm doing my best to read up and keep up with all the goings on. It's still a bit opaque for me (the proceedings, goes without saying the deal is opaque), how the court proceedings and the order of things and all that work.
@PragueAddick massive, massive credit to you, as well as the people at Orient and elsewhere who have protested this and won. I can only imagine how long this took, and it seems like a very esoteric thing, so well done being a good citizen and stick with it and the result is the right one.
In the states, building a stadium for a professional sports team using taxpayers dollars/tax breaks/other sweeteners is a very common practice. Right now Los Angeles (where I grew up) and San Diego (where I lived until very recently) are vying for an American football team touting how much taxpayer money they're willing to put up. While there is no doubt that jobs are created (though I suspect many are low to medium income jobs), when you look at the amount of money in professional sports here, it absolutely boggles my mind and infuriates me.
I would be happy to see this challenged even if Charlton weren't involved, as I think the precedent is terrible and the fact that the terms are sealed is ridiculous. Again, huge credit for being there and fighting for a good cause PA.5 -
Once the full Judge's report is issued LLDC have a month to ask for leave to appeal to the Upper Tier Tribunal stating the grounds for appeal.seth plum said:
Any idea how long they have before they lodge yet another appeal at our expense?Dippenhall said:Well done Richard. Let's hope LLDC come straight out and accept the decision, they still have the right to seek leave to appeal to the Upper Tier Tribunal, just to delay publication. They know they cannot win however far it goes.

I should add that this is another in the long list of reasons to be proud to be Charlton. KM/RD can do whatever they want to the club but I'm so proud that people like Prague continue to be an engaged and educated member of both the footballing and London community.8

Superb stuff @PragueAddickPragueAddick said:Briefly, thanks for all the messages.
They have 28 days in which to make an appeal. However this time they can only do so on a point of law. The thing is, that just as with the ICO's own decision, the Tribunal was so unimpressed with the argument about commercial harm (extent unproven), that they did not even need to consider the public interest test, (which if applied, could still tip the balance for disclosure). As such, in legal terms its a double 4-0 victory. To appeal now would be an absurdly cynical act, a point I hope to make later on the BBC.
Don't forget to wear your "We Want Our Charlton Back" badge on the Telly!5 -
Is there a way someone could record the TV spot for this? Obviously no in the UK and not able to get a BBC feed, but would love to see it.0

And therefore a foregone conclusion, 28 days from nowPragueAddick said:To appeal now would be an absurdly cynical act
Congratulations and thanks for all your hard work and dedication.

Incredible stuff, truly a mammoth victory. If Prague (and others) can win this, I have no worries that CARD will be victorious in their challenge also.
Brilliant, just brilliant.5 -

Prague - a truly magnificent effort - I had stayed away from this thread fearing you would be disappointed but, even had the result gone against you, your perseverance and tenacity were an immense credit to you personally and your campaign.
To have secured such a result in the face of such an opposition must be enormously satisfying. Very many congratulations.
Well done.

Bit carried away but absolutely brilliant news, Richard !!!
You SO deserve this fantastic result for all the hard work you've put in on the tax payers' behalf ! I feel a celebration dinner coming on for Mrs PA tonight !!!
Would be great if you could join us on Saturday and, in fact, to lead the protest( whatever it might be!)
We just need a " For Sale" sign on The Valley by the end of the week to add to this tremendous victory.
Big kiss coming your way......4
