Warnock has the ability to galvanise teams and gain promotion from lower leagues, perfect for us. He is not the most likeable person, but being 'nice' should not be a prerequisite for the role. He has managed in London on several occasions, so if he is aware and can accept the club's current plight, I would welcome him even though he is a Colin Wanker.

Didn't it say somewhere that they hope to announce some time next week who the new manager will be? I have no faith in the regime at all and am very concerned that they will turn to yet another Network Nobody over a more qualified manager citing that British managers were not suitable for where they see the future of the club.

If I had a choice out of the ones being mentioned I'd be happy with Adkins, ok with Cotteril, happy enough with Davies, I do not want Clark and definitely not Symons or Redfearn. I don't know anything about Hill to comment.

I do not want someone in house taking over either to be honest. Anyone in house might feel influenced to stick to the network model. I can't see Jackson adopting it, but in turn I don't think he is the right person for us at this time. I would have him as a first team coach though definitely.
  • If they really do suddenly have ambition and a desire to change their ways then Warnock is the best option but as I said before, I suspect he would be out the door two minutes in to a sit down interview with Roland.

Slade and Hill are both thought to be very high on their list of targets, as the South London club look to make an appointment by the end of the month.

HITC Sport also understands that one-time Charlton star Redfearn is also keen to talk to the club and it is believed he could be the leading candidate.

Think everyone would ultimately be happy with warnock. But he'd be on more than all of our players going by reports of his demands, not going to happen.

Slade please. Done a great job at Cardiff I think and was at Orient before. Sky Bet odds are quite interesting too, Cotterill down to 3/1, Nobby somehow still at 2/1, Hill and 8/1 with Uwe Rosler (?)

Redfearn probably moves about as much in the technical area as he did when he played for us.

Warnock would be the most likely to get us up. I'm sure that fact will not be fully understood by the people running the club.

The reason why we'll have someone like Lee Clarke, Kit Symons or John Collins or worse....it really is f**king depressing.

That is exactly the problem with our owner - I would say we can't afford not to get him! Surely the cheapest option is to get promoted at the first attempt.

Apparently he is demanding £1m+ a year now, from what I've heard he wasn't on nearly that this season.

We won't have the most fantastic squad regardless of who we sign. We need a manager to get more out of the squad than the sum of the parts and get the very best out of each and every player.

I would rather have that manager and sign two less players.

Anything less is a false economy.

His stock will have risen dramatically after the brilliant job he did at Rotherham.

Puts him well out of our league now

Duchatelet sees no real value in the role of manager. He just needs somebody to arrange training and select the (preferred) players for matches. He will not pay the going rate and we will end up with some out of work loser, desperate for job, who will put up with Duchatelet's nonsense (for a while at least).

A football coach to him is no more than a middle manager in one of his electronics companies with set tasks to complete according to process and protocol. There is no concept of leadership, character or inspiration in Duchatelet's management model. If there was, Katrien Meire would have been fired long ago.

Perhaps he's waiting for a 'save a prem club from relegation on high wages call' come next March.

He's been saying that for about 5 years.
