Would be surprised if Pope went there to sit on the bench, unless Celtic have had a big offer for Craig Gordon, who has been very good since signing.

At Charlton Pope will likely be in the first team, with regular football, not sure it would make sense to go and sit on the bench. I read on another thread that there is no goal keeping coach currently at Charlton ? (not sure if that's true). That needs to be sorted out, so Pope alongside getting first team football, is developing in training and being properly supported.

It would make sense for Pope to stay at Charlton. I hope he does as he is good keeper and the makings of a very good one.

It didn't stop Ben Hamer or Rob Elliot leaving us. Money talks, I'm afraid.

Both keepers were older and had a run of games in Charlton's first team ? Pope is still a young keeper and at a different stage of his career. If Charlton can ensure that he is a very good goal keeping coach and regular football, I think that there would be a good chance for him to stay in the normal run of things IMO.

The decision of players to request a move will also likely be influenced by who the next manager / head coach will be and what the approach of Duchatelet will be in the running of the club.

Also, whether Duchatelet decides to cash in / sell them or has one of own identified players for that position he wants to inflict on the team. Everything is up in the air.

    (15 days without a manager)

There is a goalkeeping coach at the club. His arrival has coincided with Pope gaining confidence and improving.

I see from George Moncur's Twitter that he's a bit God Squad. Makes it harder for a heathen like me to warm to him, but then I suppose if I had the life of a footballer, I'd probably believe in the divine too.

Playing behind a stable defence has helped him

Will he pass a medical at the moment? How long is he injured for?

Until an offer comes in for him

That would be £750k too much. In fact I wouldn't have him on a free.

I must add that there was no source with the knowledge, not even a link to a paper.
Just checking that no one else had heard it.

Simon did not want to stay. i don't think I would either, with the abuse he received. Agree he wasn't great most games, but still..

I'm fairly sure a (if not "the") goalkeeping coach left the club for an academy about ten days ago. There was a mention on CL.

Lee Turner joined from Bolton Wanderers. He could be seen before every game working with the two goalkeepers.

    ( Head coach - )

Just checked the Charlton Wikipedia page for staff - Lee Turner, goalkeeper coach - hyperlink links to Female American Country - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leah_Turner - American woman country singer

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lee-turner/profil/trainer/15234 - says Charlton Athletic

Linked in says goal keeping coach - Southend Utd - current

    https://uk.linkedin.com/in/lee-turner-10a16916

Still not sure who the goal keeping coach is. Probably Lee Turner ?
