Do you not all realise the more you reply the more he'll continue.

If he really is here to wind you all up then biting back every time is just playing into his hands.

Just ignore his posts if you have no interest in them... Simple.

I read in the SLP on Tuesday that Charlton interviewed Adkins. After that it all went quiet. Then it was Keith Hill, that's not happening and now Russell Slade. Desperate stuff, trying to find a British manager willing to work under the conditions set by Duchatelet.

I don't see the issue, interview all candidates, then make an offer to the person you want, and negotiate from there, fairly standard job filling process.
would you rather they just gave the job to the first person who rocked up like before?
Isn't an experienced British manager what we all want?, I for one am happy for them to try and get it right for once and take their time after plan A Wilder fell through.

Prospective manager applies for manager job at Cafc because he thinks we will be a big fish in a small pond down in league one.
    The reality:

Salary: 50% of what you're worth.
    Line manager: Katrien Meire
Communication with owner: e-mails before game indicating which 11 players to pick. Half time video feed with input from Roland Duchatelet.
Control over signings: Yes, but not in writing and only after getting agreement from KM and RD. Majority of RD decides.
Player wage budget: 60% of current budget minus 20% to pay wages of players we can't sell and need to loan out.
Transfer budget: Only after we have culled the squad to below our break even philosophy. Then it will be one player in, one player out.
Which players to keep: Sell, sell, sell until wage budget is met.
Expected league position: a competitive league position.
    Job stability: none.
Doesn't sound very appealing to any prospective manager.

As much as I like Jackson I don't want him as manager. Part of the coaching staff most definitely but we need someone with experience to get us back up. Even curbs didn't do it alone first off, he worked with gritt. So unless Jackson is going to Co manage with someone sorry I'm not going to get excited if he gets full management of the team. Hope I'm proved wrong if he does take over and does well, but it's a huge gamble.

We have been crying out since Powell was sacked for an experienced manager who knows the leagues. Jackson is not an experienced manager. Ok he is charlton through and through. Is that enough?

Someone like Adkins, Jones, Coyle, Hill, Slade or even Clark at least have experience. Not saying I want all of those candidates but we need experience.

We need a good manager, plenty of young managers have won promotion in their first few seasons. Powell being one of them.

I don't think it'll be Jackson and I agree if it was it would be a huge gamble, but experience as a manager isn't necessarily needed to win promotion.

Under this ownership though I don't trust them to build a strong enough squad so it's probably safer to go with a proven manager.

Any kind of gentleman's agreement, handshake, promise, or trust me exhortation, or 'I give you my word' stuff is worth jack chite from this regime.
Any new appointment needs it all in writing, and needs to tell the fans what it is. Otherwise Slade, Jacko, Adkins or Nobby are most certainly the pathetic poodles of this wrecking regime. Jacko is better than this.

    Russell Slade 8/11
    Johnnie Jackson evens

It's looks to me like it will be those 2 and the reason they are now nearly equally ranked, could be a matter of job titles.

Slade DoF with Jackson head coach or Slade head coach, with Jackson as his assistant.

I wouldn't describe Slade or Jackson as desperate or mad.

Slade would likely be happy to move back to London & Jackson would like his first coaching opportunity.

Absolutely, but someone knows something as Jackson has come in from nowhereish to evens in the last week.

In regards to Jackson becoming manager , he surely must know the score?
He would know that whether he stays or Leaves Charlton under this regime , he would still have an extremely good chance of being involved with the club again under any new owner in the future. Surely he would carry on playing and then under a new owner , then consider taking up a coaching role?

Really hope it's Jacko just for the fact that Colin will be stuck in the awful position of hating Jackson but praising him because he's now part of the SMT.

It would be an awful, pandering appointment in my opinion. Zero coaching experience. The man is clearly a leader and has a love for the club, but you need a lot more than that to be a coach.

I suspect this is the bookies trying to play on Addicks' hearts.

I haven't given the Jackson rumours any credence until now. There is clearly something in it and he may be in contention either for the primary role or as an assistant.

I think he acknowledges his legs are gone and he cannot keep up for the full game so the move into coaching is a natural progression. He is the nearest thing we have had to a legend since Chris Powell.
The players all appreciate him and respect him and he knows more about the fans and what this club means to us than anybody else at the club.
I am concerned about his lack of experience and I think working alongside someone like Slade could be the way forward to start his career.

I'm not going to lie I am a little bit excited

I want it to be Iain Dowie - we can ramp the hate up even more then. Brussell Slade comes across far too 'jolly hockey sticks'. I can see it being a bit like Les Reed when he was in charge - I'm sure I heard that players nicked one of his ties and his cap once.

Anyway who gives a shit, it's the regiemes manager so the shittier the better.

I hate the idea of the player/manager, so I hope the Jackson rumours are not true.

Jacko is already a Charlton legend and will go down as one of our greats regardless. Maybe any new manager or member of the coaching staff expects to outlast this regime.

I'd take Jacko with an experienced assistant or if he's working with an experienced manager for a few years before stepping up.

I wonder what Jason Euell makes of being overlooked.

Genuine question. Why is Jacko being suggested as a good shout for manager, when he has no experience in the job? I thought we needed someone with a bit of experience this time. Second in command by all means, but I don't see him as exactly overqualified. Besides, look at how long managers last at CAFC these days, this is the 20 minuters club, and I would rather see Jacko move in with a bit of experience as coach once this regime have gone back to Sint Truiden.

Nobody ITK has mentioned JJ, you'd think Ketts or at least Cawley would find out. Am starting to think that McDermott's sacking yesterday could well be what delayed it. Be a really good appointment if we got him.

Knowing Jackson I wouldn't be surprised if he lumped a load of money on himself just to twist the odds and mess with everyone. Remember the 'Emile Heskey is at the training ground' deadline day joke?
