Russell Slade interviewed for Blackburn Rovers job – but he is also wanted by Charlton Athletic

Perhaps we are waiting for Owen Coyle to fly in from America, if he is not already here2
-
I think we are waiting.....but only because they have no idea what they are doing.4

If JJ gets the job then that will be the final nail in the coffin for me, as he clearly is the only person British they could get to be a puppet.3
-
I think there are more who would be a puppet but Roland's thinking will be that this will be popular among fans and sell season ticketscypriot_addick said:If JJ gets the job then that will be the final nail in the coffin for me, as he clearly is the only person British they could get to be a puppet.

I think it is JJ and some of his friends putting money on him to shorten the odds, always ready for a laugh, especially if it makes the regime look silly.0
-
So Russell Slade has worked for Vincent Tan and now likely to end up with either Venkys or Roland as his boss - he must have some serious mortgage arrears or owe money to a Colombian drug cartel.ross1 said:Russell Slade interviewed for Blackburn Rovers job – but he is also wanted by Charlton Athletic

I love JJ but to make him manager would be utterly ridiculous .

Whoever is Head Coach will get interference from wrinkly balls and his pet so it may as well be someone who has complete respect of players and fans. That's why Jacko wouldn't be the end of the world.4
-
It's imperative to RD that we get out of league one as soon as possible. He needs to appoint someone who has experience and knows the division.
If we should appoint Jackson which I don't think we will it would be because none of the credible candidates would take it.
If that happens we really are in big trouble.3 -

According to a journo up north , we couldn't/wouldn't even match Rochdale's Keith Hills salary/deal6

if that's true Duchatelet is an utter c*** and I cannot express my disdain for this embarrassing regime enough.sammy391 said:According to a journo up north , we couldn't/wouldn't even match Rochdale's Keith Hills salary/deal
his experiment is an utter joke and an abject failure.
make no mistake, L2 beckons.
they must be removed.5 -
Reliable source says we're not going to appoint anyone today.1

He probably only earns about £75k a year as well.sammy391 said:According to a journo up north , we couldn't/wouldn't even match Rochdale's Keith Hills salary/deal

The more wine I drank this afternoon, the more I decided Jacko would be perfect. Knows club, knows fans, knows what he's letting himself in for. Might dampen protests short term but might also put us on right road to getting rid of RD and getting our Charlton back.
So I reckon Slade will be announced tomorrow.7 -

the problem is that the longer it takes to find an acceptable British manager who will actually take the job the more likely it becomes that Roland will decide to install Nobby Vinegar.0

Can't believe this. Apparently we were prepared to give Wilder a massive rise. Can't believe money would be a problem with Hill.cfgs said:

Fits with the suggestions that we've head coaches under this ownership on around £50k a year.sammy391 said:

We have an owner willing to spend a million or two on individual players (plus wages) yet he doesn't see the need to pay the going rate for a head coach or manager who is there to get the best out of those players.
Weird and unique.4 -
If the salaries being mentioned are true. We are fecked. I can't believe it's true though.1
-
If that IS the case, then it's clearly a case of WOULDN'T match his Rochdale wages, not couldn't.cfgs said:

Surely this is the crux of the matter alongside their reluctance to hand over 100% to a manager/coach ?
This is why I hope no-one accepts the job & they're forced to turn to the good old network yet again ....
I can't understand why we wouldn't view this as another victory - apart from the inevitable setback for our club in general as per last season . However, I'd view this as short term pain for a long term gain in my scenario.
Yet another recipe for disaster and there must be a limit to how many of those the regime can deal with. Even Mary Berry would struggle to turn that one around !
Ramp up the pressure on a weakened, stuttering set up ; hone in on their failure to "tempt" a British/experienced guy after all the promises to learn from previous mistakes and brick by brick , the crumbling edifice will collapse.
As long as this goes t*ts up from day 1 of the new season, there'd be plenty of time for rebuilding under a new owner and new manager of course. And then , the way forward , or rather onwards & upwards, can begin.
Simples.

Johnnie Jackson now 1/2 favourite
Russell Slade 7/50 -
One benchmark of wages we have is that the scout role was advertised at between £50-60,0001
