It doesn't matter what manager we appoint, unless RD and KM get out of our club. If they remain, they will fiddle and interfere, and whatever a new man tries to do will be undermined. I don't want Charlton to fail, but if getting Nobby Vinegar and another six months of poor results means that RD will bog off and we get a new owner in, then that will be fine by me. What we as fans cannot do is support this regime, even if Ryan Giggs comes in and we win our first ten games.

But I really think that success in getting back to the Championship will actually improve the chances of our excuse of a director to sell-up.
Do you really believe that we have a chance of going up @Shrew? I mean, we know that Igor and JBG are leaving, and also that pretty much any decent offer for any other player will be accepted (Lookman, Cousins, Pope, Fox, Teixeira, Bauer, Kashi, etc). Even if RD can't sell all of them, their wages will be such a strain (especially with the CARD embargo on season tickets and in stadium sales) that they will all be dumped out on loan just to get them off the wage bill, and to ensure we remain within the FFP salary cap (how ironic it would be if RD, such a fan of FFP, falls foul of it due to his incompetence at getting us relegated...). Would RD be more likely to sell us as a Championship outfit, or a League 2 shambles? And if so, which is more likely?
Knowing the complete and utter shambles Coventry were in last year but with a few lucky loans they managed to get three points of the play offs. Squads are really weak in Div 1, a lot of clubs rely on loans. So with a decent manager and dof in, yes I do see it as a possibility, nothing more then that.

I'm not that excited by the appointment of Slade but at the very least he looks like a solid manager who has done a decent job often on a very limited/no budget.

I doubt this will happen, but hopefully RD will back him and more importantly not interfere with any of daily running of the team.

It's pretty good considering he was at lower level clubs.

    42% win ratio at Orient.

Managers of his ilk are all pretty much the same, hovering at around 40%.

Don't see this potential appointment as a change of strategy, more a partial admittance of complete and utter failure.

Did he ever get promoted? Or are we happy where we are?

Pardew won Premier League Manager of the Year didn't he?

We are never going to get promoted under Roland anyway so why does it matter?

How would ANYONE know we had the biggest budget?

Does every club reveal it before June?

    Ridiculous (unsurprisingly)

Not having a go at you Colin, just I keep hearing this touted about. How do we know what other teams budgets are going to be?

More bulls*** from you Mr Wum.

Squirrel was quoted we'd be in top six of the highest budget.

What do the taffs know anyway?

Doesn't matter what the budget is if he's not allowed to spend it on what he wants.

How would we even know our budget. I imagine we'll be selling several players but we that could result in £1m of sales or say £8m.

We also don't know if we'll be able to sell or loan out unwanted players meaning they'll be taking up part of the budget.

Forest fans expecting Slade to join them according to this link.

Mind you, Slade is 20/1, 11th favourite on Skybet for the Forest job, so I can't see how that is true.

Is Slade a lifelong Forest fan who has been commuting from Nottingham to Cardiff because his family is established there by the Trent, and his kids settled in local schools?

If he's been offered both I can't see how he'd choose us.

No chance we'd pay more salary. They are in the Championship. They're Forest.

Would be happy enough with Slade under normal circumstances. Not under this regime though. I give it six months tops.

If the talks are with Katrien, that's fucked it!
  • Can't believe some fans are already moaning the guy hasn't even walked through the door yet, I personally would be happy with him in charge.
