Katrien is renowned for getting things over the line so I can't see this not going through0

Resigned already and several places saying it's already done. Hopefully her chance has gone.moutuakilla said:Katrien is renowned for getting things over the line so I can't see this not going through

Russell Slade - he was a "legend" at Leyton Orient. Bullet-headed, agricultural stuff: like herding cattle from Holsworthy market to Shepton Mallet.
We need an intelligent and thoughtful manager. Riga had the right idea: tuned in to the fans, ditched his quasi-Scientology stuff and shoved players forward. Serene authority - while Makienok missed and Harriott blazed over.
Russell Slade! Surely we can do better than this.
Last week in Brockley I walked past the Two Star Tandoori and smiled. Why not call it the Five Star? After all, it's only a wish.

He'll probably be given away.Redhenry said:Also heard JBG needs to be sold as he's on prem wages
If he's on PL wages then maybe they should've done more to make sure we were closer to that division rather than the third tier. They really are clueless.6 -
Or at least try to give him what they promised! The Red Robin said:

I bought a boat once that had sunk , had no tiller and also had a wonky rudder.
Despite how much remedial work, i could never get it working nor smelling properly again.
Thats pretty much how i feel about CAFC now.0 -

That the (likely) appointment of Russell Slade seems to be bringing hope to so many is a sign of how low we have sunk. That said, Daisy surely has to land this one or she will be more of a laughing stock than she is already. If that is possible.2

Can't help but think in the next day or so we will either have a new manager or be able to cross another name off the list.1

Good thing we're in league one then right?JessieAddick said:Knew nothing about Slade so I had a look on Wiki. It seems he's never played professional football?.......... Not saying it's a requirement of being a successful manager but... I'm not impressed. He looks like a League One manager at the best.

I'm not exactly enamoured with Slade as potential manager , but did Mourinho ever play football to any standard?mr.se7 said:

We won't have success on the pitch under this ownership. A manager such as Slade should at least stop us getting relegated again and hopefully RD will sell the club when he realises he continues to waste more of his money on failure.
I'm not sure how or why Slade is seen as a bad appointment when the other names linked are the likes of Adkins, Davies etc who have done even less in the last few years.28 -

Or Wenger or Benitez or Ferguson - to me its almost a plus to have not played football at a higher level, coz at least they wil have got to that level on some merit, as opposed to have been one of the boys and having ready-made contacts.croydonaddick said:

I stand corrected but when Barry Hearn sold up he said that during his period he had not bought a single player, I may be wrong with this, however if correct this would fit perfectly with the Belgians and given that Slade had a relatively successful time with Orient POSSIBLY things could go well.Henry Irving said:If he left Cardiff he has something lined up.
Maybe it is us. Maybe not. Maybe it's us but it won't happen.
It's not the most exciting deal but he has a decent pedigree at this level with smaller clubs/bugets so I can see the attraction.
He'd be a good choice for a normal club but we're not a normal club.
Until Christmas then it all goes wrong when Slade realises that this lot are barking mad.0 -

Except that's not the case. Adkins has four promotions, three from League 1, Slade doesn't have any...from any league.Scoham said:

He's not a bad appointment, he's just a bit beige. I think we should have gone for Adkins who, I know, has had two average gigs with Shef U and Reading but does have a better record at this level than Slade.
But, that said, if Slade gets it I'll be 100% behind him.3
