  • Would be happy enough with Slade under normal circumstances. Not under this regime though. I give it six months tops.
  • Russell Slade's red & white army!!!
Best managerial appointment since Riga first time around.
  • him in charge.

    Ha ha

BREAKING NEWS: Sky Sources - Russell Slade in talks with Charlton over manager's job #SSNHQ

Only in talks. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes an offer from another club, just as Wilder did.
  • Who are you talking to? You're the king of sweeping statements.

Because there's more than one person moaning, I could copy and paste it 20 times if you want?

So why do you persist with moaning about the moaners, including calling anyone who doesn't share you're opinion an idiot?
If you're happy with Slade, great. Sing his praises. But ease off on the constant sniping of people who don't agree with you.

Still hurt about the idiot comment? Didn't say that at all in that comment. It's not even sniping people who don't agree, it's more so that they never give any reason why he's no good.

That'd be amusing, although cannot see it.

He'll be gone by Christmas once he realises the madhouse he has walked into.

Blackburn started a petition to oust Owen Coyle on his first day. Ridiculous

Probably because of his previous association with Burnley ...
  • Slade 1/10 Jackson 8/1.
  • edited June 2016
Slade's mates putting some money on.

I hope we get a manager in as soon as possible. I think now that Roland will only sell after Christmas or on promotion so I hope we spend some money and get into as good a league position as possible from the start.

For that we need a manager DOF. If slade can do both with Jackson as understudy, that's great. I will support the manager and the team whoever they are. Just not as regularly as before as I won't have season tickets.

Edited to slade rather than what the autocorrect goes for which is slide. I hope the autocorrect is wrong.
  • Some exciting news at last. Will be interesting to see who is in his assistant and who is in the backroom.

Ooooh, if this happens, please can I volunteer to give Colin the suicide pill ?

I've given reasons why I don't rate him, but this is all getting tedious.
I'm not hurt, I just think you're a bit of a knob. But we're all Charlton fans so we move on.

Spoke to Forest but picked us ... Been given the biggest budget in div one to get us back first time .....
Source walesonline ( posted by Reams)

This is the piece by Reams that Colin is alluding to:
Just been speaking to close friend and season ticket holder at Cardiff and he said that Slade has been tasked with getting us back up at the first attempt with one of the highest budgets in L1 has spoken to two other clubs, one being Forest as this article states..

  • If he left Cardiff he has something lined up.

Maybe it is us. Maybe not. Maybe it's us but it won't happen.

It's not the most exciting deal but he has a decent pedigree at this level with smaller clubs/bugets so I can see the attraction.

He'd be a good choice for a normal club but we're not a normal club.
  • Katrien will get this over the line no problem.

    ;-)
  • Before I decide whether to back him, I would like two questions answered by him. Are you picking the side without interference and do you have control (within reasonable and normal limits) over signings and sellings? Only then do we know what we have got.

That will make him one of our longest-serving managers under Roland.
  • I know we all want them out; well most do anyway (sorry Colin). But, IF he does get enough backing to make a fair crack at getting us up then I hope he does it even if it means them staying on for another year or so.
  • If theres one thing i've learnt from this regime is that 'in talks' does not neccessarily mean they will become boss. I expect the fiasco to last a little longer.

On the plus side, he will be better than Karel Fraeye. On the minus side, anyone willing to work for this regime under the rules they operate by is not really what we need. But probably he's about the best we can hope for, which says it all about what we have become.

Let's hope they have changed the rules.
