    Welcome Russell Slade - MANAGER (not head Coach) and good luck mate you will need it. (As others have said, welcome to the Asylum)

    Realized around 18 months ago it was the STRUCTURE of our club that was wrong, we will find out in next 3 months or so if anything has really changed for the better.

    Meanwhile I'm not renewing my season ticket yet, and will be ordering a CARD T-shirt to complement my black & white scarf, ready for the first game in the glamorous third division.

    All we need now is a DoF, Assistant manager (assuming Simon Clarke will still be 1st team coach), Head Physiotherapist, Doctor, Head of Comms, Ticket manager, and about 6 new good player, and we may resemble a proper football club, but not holding my breath

    Meire will want the day to be about her. I just wish the likes of rikofold and seth plum could get press accreditation for the day, they know the questions to ask her and it would be interesting to hear her answers given that Mick Everett won't be able to deflect them, and the top table won't be full of bods from the ticket office and club shop.

    Slade needs to be given a decent transfer budget . This league will be no cake walk
    The players linked so far not good enough to get up at first attempt. The incompetence of meire and duchatelet will continue in my view

    Welcome Russell. I'm hoping this appointment heralds an upturn in our fortunes. I'm encouraged that the contract is 3 years and his title is manager.
    Ffs Katrien and Roland let this man do the job properly. Keep your Pinnochiol noses out of team affairs and we just might stop being a fucking laughing stock of a club.

    If a club has a proper manager (which we are being led to believe Slade will be) then you don't have a DoF.

    That only happens in a different structure where you have a Head Coach in the more continental-style set-up

    Nothing's changed for me. I wish Slade well and want this appointment to be a success story. But it won't be, not until the owner changes his methods of running a football club.

    That wouldn't be in Slades Drive, by any chance ? (local Chislehurst knowledge- lived in that road for years!)

    Best of luck Russell. If he is allowed to manage without much interference he may well do a decent job, but that's a very big if.

    A lot might depend on whether his wages are affordable for L1, and whether he's prepared to play in that league

    Watt retweeted the official announcement of Slade's appointment earlier.

    Probably of little significance but maybe it'll mean TW wants to stay and play under him
