from where I was standing Buxton looked to have a lot of defensive qualities and provided a great cross for the first goal.

So 4 trialists today. Buxton, Crofts, Pike and Emmanuel Sunupe a 20 right sided midfielder from the Spuds.

Crofts a very good player and impressed with Pike, Buxton was ok but as a right back I go with Pike and Sunupe was not good enough
Anyone moving in the right circles down there today?

Spoke with Diarra outside the gents behind the main stand after the game. Asked him if he was staying. He said I don't know.

Another injury for Diarra, may put other clubs off, and give a better chance for him to stay at Charlton. Diarra is probably too good for league one though, even if he does get really crocked.

That's too logical for this regime.

  • I'd compare Davis to Cousins tbh so would have thought he's a replacement for him.

It's amazing how many of our relegated players are 'too good for league one'.
I understand what you are getting at @JiMMy 85 but because Charlton got relegated doesn't mean that every member of the squad now becomes a league level player and automatically become useless. Charlton supporters are going to find this out after Duchatelet likely offloads / cashes in on what quality there is in the current team.

2/3 of a championship strength squad is not a full championship squad and that what Charlton were left with last season. Good Championship level players like Diarra, Cousins, Gudmundsson are unfortunatley put alongside Ba / Ceballos / Johnson / Sarr etc who are league one standard.

Diarra was quality last year and Charlton definitely improved when he was on the pitch. It was just a shame that he had to cover centre back for many games due to the lack of centre back cover and was out injured for a lot of games (partially due to the thin squad not giving him chance to rest).

Why all the bad comments against ceballos? He played less than 5 times, got injured, rushed back by the worst, most clueless and inept manager we have ever had. I've seen him play probably for less than 180 minutes (probably like most people posting on here). He wasn't a major disappointment like ba, sarr, big mak etc. I definitely don't think he is worth writing off until he has got more minutes under his belt. (My comments are based on me not seeing him at welling yesterday)

Based on the one flubbed corner, no doubt

Joel Ekstrand would be a good signing. Leeds are after him but Charlton might be interested as well.
