Top and bottom=Covered End, no other name for it.se9addick said:
Whoa, whoa, whoa - I'm not sure if the lower north stand constitutes the Coverd End. No need for a ruling, the Covered End is solely the part of the ground referred to by the uninitiated as the lower north, always has been, always will be, unless they ever completely demolish that end and that section becomes indistinguishable from the attachment above it.se9addick said:

And as it seems to be filling up nicely with season ticket holders then match day sales should ensure a great atmosphere in the Covered End and any goal highlights when Charlton score will show a packed end and not loads of empty seats as has been the case in recent seasons. 'Valley Floyd Road' and the 'Covered End choir' should look and sound a bit more credible this season, if the team does its bit as well.letthegoodtimesroll said:

I'm sure sitting behind netting (Katy's veil) will also add to the "unique" match day experience...
There's a part of me thinks that, for those who have moved, for the cost reduction, it is possible that they may cherry pick what games to attend more than in the past.0 -
As CARD have stated there will be no during match protests in August, I doubt there will be any netting up at the start of the season.0
-
But CARD weren't responsible for everything being thrown on the pitch.
Also, I can see the regime looking upon keeping the netting up as a demonstration that they are "in charge".1 -

We'll see, but I would be massively disappointed and quite frankly amazed if the netting is up at the start of the season.0 -
Duchatelet & Meire are always trying to paint the protests as rabble. If they leave the netting up, it will only show up their distrust of Charlton supporters & irritate everyone sitting in the Lower Covered End.0
-
It won't be.1
-
It would be a major own goal if the netting is still there when the season starts and the Covered End is packed with pissed off fans.Covered End said:

On the plus side for the boycotters, those riot police they had parked up on standby outside the ground for the Burnley game will no doubt be otherwise occupied elsewhere around town this summer so there would probably be a huge demand for extra stewards if they want to volunteer for that.0 - Sponsored links:

Mine has turned up this morning . Can't help but feel that letter supposedly from Slade is set up to say , 'well we said at the start of the season we are going with youth this year' like it or lump it1
-
Mine arrived too this morning. The covering letter very much warns us to expect to see loads of kids playing this season. The "opportunities" they will get grow by the day......most will need to play in goal!!0

No, I think the upper north is the true covered end.letthegoodtimesroll said:

Anyone care to post up the letter they received?1

Katy 's Angels have been recruited and will be deployed on Match Day to keep a careful watch on the Covered End. They have been issued with protective headgear and undergone intensive training. However the chap in the blue t shirt and jeans realises early on that he is not up to the job and makes an early exit.NornIrishAddick said:I'm sure sitting behind netting (Katy's veil) will also add to the "unique" match day experience...

Excuse my Belgian , but that is utter b*llocks.msomerton said:The change in type of season ticket holders I am talking about will not occur in one season, but I expect that they will begin some form of advertising campaign to build interest. The league position is not an insoluble problem, as new punters will hope to be in on the revival of club fortunes or sold as such. The spectre at the feast for Duchalet has been the demo`s but with the protesters declining in numbers due to ticket boycott that is a problem that is going away.

You may mock Mrs F, but I've heard Big Tone is already on the case............Fanny Fanackapan said:

If the stadium was completely empty for a season they would depart back to where they came from pretty sharpish. Look how sad Sad ol' Roland looks in the photo above with an empty Valley and no revenue at all. Even that Heartless Bastard would give up in my opinion.se9addick said:

I cannot fathom how any one would want to help support a Regime that is doing everything to destroy the Club. It dont make no sense. b) even if it weren't, them departing requires someone making an offer that RD would accept, you give him far too much credit in assuming he's sensible enough to cut his losses and chalk this one up to experience. He isn't, he's arrogant, stubborn sand proud. He has the resources to continue funding his folly for years and every pound we lose, every pound he has to fund is a pound he'll add on to his asking price making it harder and harder for us to find a willing buyer.0 -
If we continue to lose money the way we are, his asking price will be about 60m for a league two club in 2 years time.0
-
Not sure it's works like that. Failing, badly run businesses do not command top dollar. Even in Roly's world.Chris_from_Sidcup said:If we continue to lose money the way we are, his asking price will be about 60m for a league two club in 2 years time.

IT'S THE FOOKIN CUPBOARD END!!!!!3

I'm well aware of that. My comment was tongue in cheek in reply to se9 saying "every pound we lose, every pound he has to fund is a pound he'll add on to his asking price"ChicagoAddick said:

So according to your logic we will continue building up a debt (I agree there) and because of Rolands vindictiveness we could continue going on a downward spiral. So by the time we are nearing going out of the League (ie bottom half of Div 4) Douchbag would according to your logic then be asking around 70 mill (current debt +2 more years of debt) for a club near the bottom of Div 4 (that aint gonna happen) . Surely it would be better in the short term just to have a complete boycott for a season although I appreciate your point that all the saddo's would not be willing to give up their Saturday " fix" for a season even if they are contributing to the Regime & so indirectly the demise of the club in the long run.se9addick said:

Why would it be better "to have a complete boycott for a season" and how would it be organised and executed ?GetOutOfMyClub said:

As I said it's completely unrealistic and I don't think it would have the desired effect anyway.0 -
Continue this logic for another ten years welling and cray Wanderers will be our local rivals.se9addick said:

Roland will be demanding 100 million for the club
Don't think so4
