I would like to keep him purely because I thought he looked a bit better toward the end of the season under Riga, and we can't lose anymore at this stage.

The jury is still out for me though

I'd agree with that. Not his biggest fan, but think he will do well this season. I a personally think he's a better bet than THD.

I thought today had to be 200pc a signing day. I am actually getting worried that the rumours keep changing which suggests to be the club keep screwing things up and having to switch targets.

Many of these rumours come from the agents end rather than the club, so half these players we wouldn't have contacted at all

One thing is for sure, the Leicester scout wasn't there to run his eye over Lookman. He left about 5 mins after he came on.

He was making lots of notes against a lot of players. In the second half most of the notes were on Ipswich.

I had a nose when he flipped to the Charlton page of his file and he had made shed loads of notes against Konsa. Whether he was there to look at him or not, he certainly caught his eye.

They would probably have watched Lookman already at the Euro youth tournament

Bet you could go on any clubs message board and they will be some fans saying who need players now or the world will end and others saying the players we have are great we've done well this window.

This is far from ideal and I don't trust Katrien to be honest with fans let alone with Russell but even if we take her at her word and they are working hard that doesn't mean the players we want will come.

The player may not want to move, may not want to move to us, may get a better offer last minute (Chris Wilder style), his club may not want to let him go, a player in his position might have got an injury today so the deal is off, the club want us to pay all his wages and we can't or won't do that, we could be waiting to move Tex or someone else on (Ba, Bergdich, Cebellos?) first or any number of other reasons. Or Roland could just say "you have enough players, no more" as he has before.

If the deals happen they happen. If they are not here by Bury too bad, we'll just have to cope somehow.

If they players aren't here by 1 September then we can start worrying.

Is it possible they were 'just there' without anyone particular in mind?

I imagine that happens quite frequently and I'd be surprised if there weren't more scouts there yesterday. I know very little about the scouting world but I imagine if I were in their position, I'd see a club who have a history of their academy producing good players, recent academy products being sold relatively cheaply (Gomez, Jenkinson, Shelvey), relegation so more likely to sell. and the last few games where our squad has been youth player heavy so it's almost guaranteed there'll be a fair few on display. Add to that decent, English opposition who themselves I'm sure have a few who prem clubs might be keeping tabs on, it would see like a no-brainer for scouts

Maybe the scouts were marveling the knot tying techniques of the new hexagonal goal nets.

Declan Rudd and Louis Thompson to sign season loan deals by the end of the week. Dillon Phillips may then sign for Cheltenham. Source Dr Kish.

Haha Leicester want Harriott? Do they need a new mascot wearer, or perhaps he's going there to help in the club shop?

We got what slade says is a 'huge' amount of money for our goalie and replace him with a loanee ffs

Maybe not such bad business. Rudd will be the best GK in the division. If it allows Phillips the chance to get a seasons games at Cheltenham coming back ready to be our number one. Or at least understudy then I don't think it's completely wacko.

Rudd is a better proposition in goal than Pope IMO. Farcical as our transfer dealings have been, thats an upgrade big time in my book.

I believe a lot of what Ketts on Dr Kish says, but if Phillips goes to Cheltenham, who is our number 2, Mitov? I know he was last season to Pope, but is he really ready? or are they hoping Rudd does not get injured, even with our record of injuries

Anyone know what type of midfielder Thompson is? Surely not another holding midfielder?
