Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet was allegedly forced to sneak out of the club this morning to avoid protesting fans.
News of the Belgian millionaire’s arrival in SE7 instigated an impromptu gathering from supporters.
The fans were initially locked out of the ground and security told News Shopper they were unable to let the group in.
However, the supporters – carrying a huge anti-Duchatelet banner – were then allowed to pose in front of the West Stand where numerous protests have already been staged this season.
Duchatelet was believed to be at the Valley holding crunch talks with CEO Katrien Meire following the club’s relegation to League One.
News Shopper was told the owner, along with Meire and other senior members, left the Valley to continue talks in central London.
But with fans outside the usual exit, a source says Duchatelet and his team decided to take an alternative route and leave via the Valley Grove car park exit.
The Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) have urged fans to turn out for a huge protest this weekend.
A statement read: “They [Duchatelet & Meire] are the reason the club has been relegated. If they had a shred of integrity or self-awareness, they would walk away now.
“We are not interested in their excuses or their plans.
“There will be no collaboration with them, now or in the future. They are the enemy of everything that Charlton has been and will be again."

Nice pictures, just a thought for the future though. Can a box be provided for Arsenetatters to stand on when holding a banner.9

No sorry, Health & Safety will not allow it. The minimum you would have needed was a podium.Baldybonce said:Nice pictures, just a thought for the future though. Can a box be provided for Arsenetatters to stand on when holding a banner.

Yes I don't think Roland was up for the 'yeah why don't you all come in and have a chat about how we should lay sound foundations for the club' moment.0

I bet the local B&Q mysteriously sold out of Duct Tape this morning as a lizard like elderly Belgian dropped in on his way to Sparrows Lane.
Got to hold the buildings together somehow.12 -
Inspecting Russell's work re-tiling the showers, and his choice of table linen?0

On a Wednesday when no first team players are in. Great timing Roland8

£10K a week and they can't even be bothered to come in to training on a Wednesday. No wonder Roly's looking to sell.Amos on the wing said:On a Wednesday when no first team players are in. Great timing Roland

Wednesday is usually a rest day, especially after a Tuesday night game away up north. They'll go over the game Thursday morning, then training for Saturday in the afternoon and Friday0

Interesting, why would he be there ?0

It's the breaking news that the new Eltham Cinema will have a Nando's AND a Pizza Express that lured him over.
Not due to 2018 though. Probably when he intends to see his next game....2 -
It's Morgan Fox's birthday.
He's obviously heard someone saying "Oi, Roland! Spend some time at Charlton, for Fox's sake"
