I'm a keeper, and trust me - it's much better to fling yourself in its direction than to stand there gawping. I reckon he might have pulled it off if he'd reacted immediately and gone full-length.
For those that say that Rudd couldn't adjust for that, I think he could, I just think he thought it was going wide.. I know the concept of going the wrong way, but he was completely rooted to the spot when he could have adjusted. That goal went in in slow motion.
Absolutely no chance. He'd already reacted to his left and stopping your momentum, then changing it in the opposite direction takes time and is notorious for making you look slow. He was helpless. You can't blame him for that. Actually you can't blame anyone for that. Fox did the right thing, Rudd reacted appropriately. Bad luck, that's all.

He should have definitely dived at it
Leuth, we should spend more time on match threads together and less time on anything to do with politics, because I think we have found the first thing we have ever agreed upon. ;-)
It hit the post on the way in... that was in a position of the goal where Rudd needed to be dead centre of the goal to at least to save it... Instead he had naturally started to cover his right post

.... I was a keeper too...
Hence my comment and presumably our agreement.
You can see that Rudd goes the wrong way (correctly based on the strike) but there is a period where he clearly is no longer going the wrong way and is standing still, with enough time to adjust and react.
I suggest people watch it back. He was rooted to the spot once he had recovered from going the wrong way.
Not to say he isn't a great keeper, but he could have at least attempted something more there.
That said, it's possible that his knee 'locked' as he tried to change direction (this has also happened to me) and yeah if that happens it really can make you look a lemon. He should have at least fallen over or something, made it look dramatic
Got to laugh at Meire (paying?) using sky sports for her communication will make things right bullshit. 34 meetings and her and the whole club are still shit!
Ian Holloway's been out on the razz "there's some good football being played out there"
I know there's a thread for this but HOW DOES THAT MAN KEEP GETTING WORK!?!?!?! As a manager or as a pundit??? Did some lovely stuff with Blackpool playing diagonal balls to Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Luke Varnay but been absolutely useless since.
He's not a good Manager, he just couldnt fail with a good Spurs team and showed when he ruined Aston Villa.
At one point we got a FK on the halfway line... no idea what it was for because they were showing Sherwood watching the bloody match that I want to see myself!!

Always been useless imo, another charlatan that keeps getting work.
No way Rudd could have done anything - his balance was wrong because he couldn't plan for a fluke like that. Slade has to grow a pair now and actually find a way to attack them. I have a feeling that if we can pressure them a bit they might crumble. I shouldn't have to be worrying whether the manager will react in the right way but with this clown I do. Yes, we are missing key offensive players but as has been said, it is better to try and fail than not to try at all! If we are going to get something from the game you stupid git Slade, you have to grow a pair now!
Only positive is I'm quietly confident our servers won't crash under the weight of traffic this afternoon as every five minutes another 20 Charlton fans fall asleep

Got to gamble on Hanlan out wide or something. No one out there that can turn and run at the opposition.
The midfield four are decent enough individually but never as a four together. Three all playing is bad enough.

Yet another tactical masterclass by a manager who could only be outdone by the combined talents of the mop and the bucket in the sluice room...
