I think JJ has probably reached his limit. Novak strikes me as someone who couldn't give a fuck and his happy to earn his reported £10k a week as his backside gets fatter. Holmes must be thinking what the fuck he's got himself into after having such a great season last year.

It really was a dismal day. It's really affecting me now. I don't know how much longer I can take.

Sadly the players have simply adopted the SMTs lazy couldn't give a shit attitude.

Something has to give soon because the one good thing from all this ineptitude is that Rollys investment is going down the pan, with I would suggest most of the senior employees careers.

I disagree on the first point - "the important factor" will be our form over the season, however I completely agree that just surviving in this pub league is a disgrace. At the start of the season my minimum expectation was playoffs, and I thought that was being unambitious frankly, what we're seeing is beyond the pale.

3 teams I never thought I'd fear, this is likely to get a lot more ugly.

Funny old day. Headed to match with husband and brother in law, who lives locally. Nice set up -parking across the road, improvised bar inside/outside the ground. Small stadium -story there is that previous owner ran off with £10m which is why the stand on one side is unfinished.

Wore protest shirts and took improv banner to show solidarity with Belgian protesters. Generally met with approval from those who noticed.

We were at left hand side of goal nearest to home fans so surrounded by the unruly mob in their dark blue uniform with flashes of burberry. Stewards and police made token effort to get people to sit then gave up and left loads of lads standing in the aisles. Bizarrely the stewards were FBI. A female steward got very upset at one point from the abuse from this lot. Any bets they were on the free coaches?

Mix of supportive and anti regime songs. Latter actually got going more after we equalised as I suppose then no-one could accuse singers of not supporting team. That was our best spell on the pitch too - basically the 15 mins before halftime. Once they got second, we went to pieces. No confidence, no idea and KR seemed equally lost. We got v niggly too. Watt could easily have been sent off - looked like he was trying for it. A lot of the crowd then turned on players. They did come over to clap crowd at end but mainly greeted by boos. Robinson had noticeably legged it down tunnel already.

To me we looked relegation fodder. Neutral brother in law said it looked like two mid table teams with Northampton having the edge. I hope he is right!

We forget that SCP failed 2nd half of 2010/11 taking over Parkinson's team 14 January 2011. Ending up 13th in FL1.

Abuse fearful as SCP trouped after 2-0 defeat at the Victoria Ground March or April. Final nail for that season.

6 years on and it's deja vu. Unlike Slater 'rat' at least has the resources but his patience with us 'idiots' surely wearing thin.

Another disjointed, shapeless and insipid performance from a crestfallen Charlton side. Northampton were worthy and comfortable winners.

A scrappy first half, with little in the way of incident until one of their guys exploited some space down our left flank, put over a peach of an early cross and Michael Smith put away an unstoppable header. Surprisingly, we got an equaliser before half time, when their goalie's parry of Konsa's far post header was snapped up by Botaka in the six yard box.

The first ten minutes second half were very open and both Botaka and Novak had a couple of decent strikes from distance, which cleared the bar. However, Northampton took control of the game in midfield, found their men well and were adept at spreading the play (none of which we were capable of). Our defensive frailty was exposed again when Tex gave the ball away in his own half, they worked it forward to Smith and he simply waited for his overlapping colleague to run past him, before slipping the ball to him on our left bye line. Although Byrne headed the ball out, it came out low to O'Toole and he lashed it straight past Rudd from just inside the box.

We never looked like getting back into the game and, quite frankly, the players looked clueless. Tony Watt's sole contribution when he came on towards the end, apart from giving the ball away, was to brainlessly foul their guy in injury time, have a dig at him whilst he was on the ground, push another one of their players and collect a yellow card. Maybe he should be concentrating on his football and his fitness, rather than his bloody tweeting.

We were once again poor defensively, with the exception of Ezri Konsa. Smith bullied Bauer and his half time replacement, Tex. These two have gone from looking decent to veritable carthorses almost overnight. What the hell is going on ? Page was not as abject as last Tuesday, although Chicksen was a noticeable improvement when he came on, especially in his use of the ball. Hopefully, he and Solly will provide a bit more solidity in the full back positions.

Our central midfield was slow, turgid and unable to create anything. I can scarcely remember us winning a 50/50 challenge (although that applied all over the pitch). Out wide, Botaka had a few good moments but obviously doesn't offer much support defensively. Ricky Holmes worked hard but it was just one of those days when not much came off for him, albeit not for want of trying.

Our front two were atrocious. Indeed, a comparison of the respective performances of the two centre forwards illustrates why Northampton won this game. Quite apart from scoring, Michael Smith held the ball up well, brought others into play, harassed our defence all afternoon and dropped back consistently to win the ball back from our dawdling players when his team was out of possession. Magennis did none of those things and hardly won a header all afternoon. If the guy's not fit, don't play him; if he is, where and why is he hiding the qualities that made him so effective in the first half of the season and have made him a fixture in the Northern Ireland squad ?

The best part of the day was the excellent 'Malt Shovel' pub (10 minutes walk from the station) and the Albion Brewery Bar (with thanks to @Sir_Clive for recommending the latter). The Brewery is three minutes from the Malt Shovel and only twenty yards from a mini cab base (not that we'll necessarily be coming back here next season).

I'm afraid we are in big trouble.
