No officer deserves to go to work , put our uniform on and not come home to our families.

Keith's wife has lost her husband, his children have lost their father - but they will always have the knowledge and the pride that he was a hero.
So very sad. Rest in peace PC Keith Palmer.3 -
I don't usually post on RIP threads, but this one is different and personal.
I'd met PC Palmer but didn't know him but he was a good friend of a close friend of mine and they used to go to games together. Me and my friend have both been boycotting but will put that aside to attend the next home game to pay our respects. I like the idea of retiring the seat and having a plaque, but that's for the club and family to decide on what they feel is appropriate.
All the love to Keith's family and friends dealing with these horrific events.16 -
Just walked past the National Police Memorial in St James' Park where flowers are being left for PC Palmer.7 -

RIP Ian - a truly tragic waste of life for you and the other victims of this dreadful crime0

Facebook really attracts some low-life. There's people complaining that the fund target keeps being raised! What would they look like if they set a target of a £1m for the family and got nowhere near it? The family will get a pension but no amount of money will compensate for the loss of a husband and a father. Let the public make their donation to show solidarity and support with the family. We can all see how much has been raised and if people think that's enough, then they don't need to contribute. Yes, there are other victims but Keith Palmer was doing his job and very likely saved the lives of others.16

very sad, thoughts with his family0

I like the idea of painting the seat a different colour but would suggest Gold instead of Black. Just seems a more fitting colour and that he should be remembered with positivity for his service to the community and always with pride.22

RIP PC Palmer. Have lots of dealings with all the PCs at the Houses of Parliament through my job in the fire service and met Keith quite a few times when we turned up on shouts there. He always waved at us as we drove past on fire calls. Tragic.2

Oh god I've only just found out about this.
I have so many mixed emotions, like many of you I assume.
Sorrow, anger and pride all at once, it's difficult to compartmentalize them all right now.....maybe I will come to in time.

There's terrible stuff happening all the time it seems, and unfortunately you begin to get a little hardened to it all. However, every so often something occurs which you feel personally, and this is certainly one of those times.
RIP a brave man.3 -
Brave.
Hero.
These words somehow seem inadequate to describe this great man.
Rest in peace Keith Palmer and rise in glory.0 -

I've been advised by one of the interviewees on the ITV coverage of the recent Belgium trip that the reporter, Amy Lewis, is seeking Charlton fans who knew Keith who might like to comment in his memory. Obviously it will be for the individuals to consider what is appropriate after such an appalling incident.
I didn't know Keith myself but have always been grateful for the safety that he and his colleagues provide during my frequent visits to the Palace of Westminster. RIP Keith and may your family find at least some solace in the knowledge that you served so well.1 -
RIP Keith Palmer, thoughts go out to family and friends.
Could be wrong here but if family worked in Dartford area had a big hand in getting Charlton back to the valley and opening of east stand.0 -

We have had a lot of,requests today come from journalists and reporters through CL, (and I think the Supporters Trust have as well) seeking comment, insight etc from those who know him.Paddy7 said:I've been advised by one of the interviewees on the ITV coverage of the recent Belgium trip that the reporter, Amy Lewis, is seeking Charlton fans who knew Keith who might like to comment in his memory. I'm sure there are people who are not sure what lines there are, but our view is that all comms are best handled from his close family via their family liaison officer, or from the police bodies.
