Are you sure? I don't think the transfer would formally go through until July 1 when the window officially opens. Usually contracts run through 30 June as a result.Henry Irving said:
We have signed players this early before although usually the deal is from first July.Cardinal Sin said:Why would we sign anyone now when we can do it the week before the season starts or before the window closes? They have never done it before, so why now, unless it's loose change of course?
Signing a player now costs two months extra wages but secures the player.
Powell/Varney/Kavanagh hard deals set up im the March before the league winning season
We signed Hierridesson (sp?) During the season and couldn't play him until the next season.
You cannot 'sign' a player outside of the transfer window. It is a gentlemens agreement. Everything is put in place for the signature on July 1st.Henry Irving said:

Worrying that proposed signings are all mid-table L1 rather than Champ sides. Would like to see Rohan Ince as Brighton will upgrade their midfield.1

I'd love to see him 'come home', although he never made a first team appearance for us .. so many rumours around the futures of Tex, Bauer, Konsa and Johnson must surely be headed out the door ..Covered End said:

Turner is probably better than any of the above named even though he's had very few first team games lately .. sign him up0 -
So, someone has told me this is true.Covered End said:

Can he get his builders to have a crack at our training ground? They sound a hell of a lot quicker than the mob Keohane has been mis-managing for the last 18 months!!!Rob7Lee said:

It's about 3/4 of the way down Camden Park Road, it's been being built for about a year but yes, much quicker than the training ground work.TelMc32 said:

Surely turner would be on mega money compared to what we want to pay!0

Double signing eh?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's the fairly unlikely double signing of resignation letters by TK and KM.
Worth at least 5 new players.5 -

This is from Dr Kish.
Karl Robinson has stated that he wants to bring 10 -12 players in, with half arriving before he goes on holiday. With the boss departing in a week or so, the chances of him getting his wish are remote.
Moves are beginning to happen though, Northampton signed of out of contract MK Dons winger, Daniel Powell, on Friday.
Robinson expects to complete the signing of keeper David Martin next week, but imminent arrivals look a bit thin on the ground after that.
The manager will want the team to be mainly his own next season, though he may garnish it with a quality loan signing or two.
Chelsea's diminutive England Under-19 captain, Jay Dasilva, impressed at the end of the season and will be in Robinson's thoughts.
The youngster is very quick, and his speed allows him to rectify errors.
Pace is nearly impossible to defend against, especially at League One level. Young Arsenal front man, Stephy Mavididi demonstrated this quality in his five appearances for the Addicks.
His season came to a premature end in February, when he suffered a serious hamstring injury against Bury at The Valley in February.
Prior to that, the Derby born 18-year-old came close to scoring a wonder goal at Rochdale. He took the ball from his own half, leaving a stream of defenders in his wake, before narrowly failing to score.
Robinson is still in regular contact with the player, and these are his thoughts about bringing him back to The Valley for the 2017/18 campaign:
"I would like to bring Stephy back but he’s not my player.
"We speak every couple of weeks and I got a text that he has been given the all-clear to be back training in July. That is great news for him.
"He’s a very talented player. Our fans know how good he is. To see the name Mavididi on the back of a Charlton shirt would be exciting for next season, but we are in the hands of the player and the club."
With the vast array of talent available to him at the Emirates, Arsene Wenger may feel Mavididi's development may be best served with a season long loan at a lower division club.
If so, expect Robinson to be at the front of the queue for his services.3
