Was thinking back to the last debate last time around. This site had a real mix of views and the thread invoked genuine debate. Now it is massively one sided with no debate - just reams of posts with anti Tory sentiment.
I am on an F1 forum too, and that's gone the other way. Once again - anti Labour posts one after the other which also kills any debate.
Has something changed across the demographic of Charlton Life? Do we have a younger user base than two years ago? Do we have our own 'bubble' a la London and the EU referendum.
Time will tell - but it is a lot more one sided this time and was from the start.2 -

All I think is that The Tory campaign has been very poor, as has May.
The Labour campaign & manifesto has been surprisingly good (Abbott apart).
I am pretty down the centre, possibly slightly right of centre. If Labour had the "team" of a few years back, I may have voted Labour, I have in the past.
However, I can't bring myself to vote for Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott, because I don't believe that they have radically changed so many of their beliefs. I'm afraid they are too far left for me, even though they are saying they were, but aren't now.
I think the Tories could end up with a reduced majority.
I'm not getting into a debate, so don't ask me any questions, because I won't be replying.2 -
They barely had a majority last time? It can be that much reduced before we are in hung parliament territory.0

For anyone watching the election debate and may have seen others (this is the first one i've sat down to watch properly), is it me or are they nearly all a bunch of imbeciles full of sound bites and clap trap?
They all spend more time digging out each other than they do actually answering any questions, if I didn't know the parties the most impressive is Caroline Lucas by a country mile......... typical the greens aren't standing in my area to help Labour
I'm ignoring the welsh/scots as not standing down here, Lib Dems - a wet blanket, UKIP a one party wonder, Labour will fix everything and all within their means and conservatives should 'be trusted'........ god help us all whoever gets in.1 -

I'm still undecided on who to vote for , but I think it's terrible that Theresa May didn't bother to turn up to a live televised debate a week before the election!4

238 voted Tory in 2015 and Leave in 2016, and another 88 voted Tory in 2015 and polls (even adjusted for Labour surge) have them at 45%+ in each.
That's 326 in the bag before even looking at the 35 which voted Labour in 2015, Leave in 2016 and also polling 45%+.
Add another 10 they are assured to take from LibDem 'Leave' MPs, UKIP and the SNP and you get to 371.

Tory and Labour coalition would never happen but the equivalent happens in other countries fairly often when coalitions are the way forward. If ever there were a time for it, the next 5 years of Brexit uncertainty would probably be the time. Allowing a reset when we begin a new world outside the EU.1
