@newyorkaddick what is you modelling saying? Correct me if I'm wrong but not seen much in the way of predictions from you the last few days. Fancy sticking your neck out?

    My final prediction is/was:

    CON 380 (45%)
    LAB 197 (35%)
    LIB 3 (8%)
    GREEN 1 (2%)
    SNP 47 (4%)
    UKIP 0 (3%)
    PC 3 (1%)
    N.I. 18
    OTHER 1

So a 110 seat Conservative majority.

I hope you're wrong - just imagine the damage this current version of the tory party could do with the next five unfettered years in power.
if they are so bad why are they going to beat Labour, again?

If their record was any good, you would think there would be something positive posted in 205 pages of comment wouldn't you?

A number of reasons, the fear campaign the tories have fought has worked, the perception of Corbyn - but certainly not because the tories are good. I'm not blindly against Conservatism, the same as I'm not blindly for Labour - but as I said, this current version of Conservatism scares me.

For me it's a bit like Palace vs Millwall - I want both to lose but that's impossible.

Brexit was and is a completely terrible idea but a campaign of hate and fear and false promises managed to get them over the finish line.

British voters succumb to hate and fear nowadays. As all the comments about Corbyn being a danger and a lunatic show.

The Tory Party don't give a fuck about the vast majority of people in this country and I don't have a clue why so many vote for them. They probably benefit the top 5% only given their attitude towards tax.

Our electoral system means that getting only 40% of the vote can give you well over 50% of the seats and this on a turnout of probably 66%. The winning party represent less than 30% of those eligible to vote so any talk of a mandate is laughable.

Our press is very right wing and controlled by billionaire press barons who don't mind lying to influence the election - there are a number of misleading headlines about Corbyn.

A lot of the electorate are taken in by the guff papers such as the Mail and the Sun feed them.

I fully expect the Tories to win given how much press backing they have.

Just voted. For the first time in my life, having voted in every single local, European and general election since 1974, I have not voted Labour. I have just voted for a party led by a religious freak! If someone said to me 10 years ago that those two things would come to pass I would have replied there is as much chance that happening as Charlton winning the Champion's league!

I don't think you want to know the answer to that.
the answer is because the only real alternative is even more unpalatable.

any particular reason why there is a snapchat filter for im voting labour but no other parties?

    https://www.snapchat.com/on-demand

You can submit custom filters to Snapchat for approval, over specific regions at specific times. Probably something Labour have submitted for the young people to enjoy.

Voting to keep the Tories out, wherever you live, is the only sane thing to do. Unless you own a newspaper, they do not represent you.

There's some real desperation here. Laughable.
What's laughable is the fact in the last two months no one has posted a single defensible reason to vote Tory unless you are a millionaire.

You have also ignored all the really desperate posts calling Corbyn a disaster or similar. Take off the right wing goggles for once.
I think some of the silent majority decided there was no point debating with hysteria.

As I thought. Just booting up snapchat for the first time in weeks, the filter clearly says "sponsored" on it in the bottom corner. So was probably paid for by Labour.

There's also other "I voted" ones that don't mention specific parties.

Just voted for labour for the first time in my life. Seems that they will come closest to challenging the Tories where I live, though it will take a lot to knock them down. Not a massive labour fan, but their campaign and manifesto has been a lot better, and I don't like what the Tories have been up to (and i recognise the work they had to do to recover from the global financial crisis)

If you got bored half way through those and just scrolled past, the key points:

-she was the first black female MP.
-she has a working class background – dad was a welder, mum was a nurse

-she went to Cambridge to study history in the 70s
-in 2017, the same Uni still has only 15 black students

-she was working for the home office by age 22/23
-by 24/25, she was race relations officer at National Councilfor Civil Liberties

-in 2008, her speech on civil liberties won parliament speech of the year
-she was brought into cabinet by Miliband in 2010 working to protect public health
-in 2011, the Telegraph said she was one of Labours best frontbenchers

And none of that is relevant now that she can't string a sentence together can't recall any real facts or figures and is likely not (either physically or mentally TBC) fit to be Home Secretary.

I do however still believe that she can be a part of labour and help the party move forward.

Hard to see Labour getting more than 260-270 seats. So even if they overperform, they will be significantly smaller than the Tories.

How long would a party like that likely be in power for before we do it all again?

5 years - them's the rules.... Oh no, hang on a minute...

Two colleagues are chatting. One is a childless 50 year old woman and the other is a young dad with two kids. The woman who benefited from free tuition fees doesn't think the UK can afford to have free tuition. The fella who paid for his university is working overtime every week to put into savings because he doesn't want his children to have student debt like he has.
