I want them chained to the Thames Barrier and left until at least three tides have passed over their heads.

    That’s a bit extreme.

The Tate & Lyle jetty is probably easier to wrap chains round anyway

Is that a hint that the owner of Tata Steel is in the running.

He used to own Australia’s equivalent of walmart. Now he’s just a billionaire with money to burn and nothing to take an interest in...

I'm going to get myself some resin bonded boxers to keep people away from my driveway.
  • If it does happen let's hope it's not a case of out of the frying pan. For all the abundance of negatives at least the bills have been paid albeit at the expense of a divided and dwindling fanbase.

Surely after the last 2 takeovers we're due a bit of luck. Ano ownership that can afford to run us and have footballing ambition without destroying the soul and identity of the club.

Hopefully not too much to ask in 2017.
  • Oh No, just when all hope had gone I see this again, you bar stewards now all hope and optimism is back again

More info on muir, albeit from his own website:

Andrew Muir is a passionate philanthropist. At The Good Guys he set up The Good Guys Foundation and Local Giving Program that sees a donation from every transaction in-store and online donated back to local charities. To date The Good Guys Local Giving Program has donated more than $8 million to more than 150 charities across Australia.

    Sounds like a good guy..

We don't half attract random owners. A Belgian electronics mogul and now the Aussie Walmart King.
A mega rich middle eastern fella would fine

If VOTV says it's close then it's close. It won't be the messengers fault if any deal collapses.

    Fingers crossed it doesn't.

    Both good points.

I've skipped over some pages so sorry if the role has already been taken, but I'll play wet blanket and say there are probably still a lot of reasons that talks could still break down. Back in the spring the Aussie group were still looking for investors and I imagine there's still a possibility that they might not have the cash. Plus Roland could change his mind once he knows they have the money and up the price.

Lastly, we don't really know what to expect with this group given they're a new consortium. Having a former footballer or former executive doesn't automatically make them good, or mean they know what they're doing, or that they have the funds to do it.

I'm treating this with cautious optimism.
