First time watching a stream.
Awful first half, although should have been 1-1 (Reeves sitter)
Rovers were terrible. I wouldn't want any of their players.
Much better second half. Dasila was brilliant. We'll miss him next season. Aribo had a very good second half, Konso too by and large.
Best was annoying; looked lively at times, holding the ball up well (his setting up a chance for Reeves was a lesson for Magennis),and was always looking for space.... but he made too many poor decisions.
Despite all our possession, we didn't produce enough clear chances, for the second match running. We've got into an alarming losing habit, and we look disorganised and dispirited.
Surely it'd be worth giving Magennis a rest now? I just can't see any majorly exciting signings happening in January. We desperately need a striker, and a physical presence in midfield.
So long as we remain Roland's Charlton Social Club Athletic, the only way is down.

Then we can't penetrate behind packed defences.

Don’t agree with the blaming of Magennis or Robinson, although neither are perfect. I am not a great fan of Robinson but any manager would struggle under the restrictions imposed. Going into a season with one senior striker FFS.7

Worth remembering that Rovers played on Wednesday. We had a whole week to prepare for this. Some saying Rovers were poor but we still didn’t even score. This expansive game isn’t delivering goals. Magennis again on for the whole game. Why?2

Aribo is a better replacement for Reeves or Clarke; Dijksteel would be better alongside JFCThe Red Robin said:

I was also at all three games and we're really struggling to create chances. That's a bigger problem in my opinion.0 -
Millwall won, Palace won - and Charlton lost.
Seems like another typical weekend.

The afternoon started poorly having to watch the Nigels strutt their stuff at Leicester in the Harvester pub a stones throw from the ground but got better as soon as I met up with @ozaddick and Fanny's crew. We were not overly confident about the task before us but you never know with this team of ours.
My first visit to Ewood and it's a nice stadium as you would expect of former premier league champions having been bankrolled in days gone by, by steel magnate Jack Walker. On entering the ground we found out who the mystery absentee was going to be and we were dealt the biggest of blows with no Ricky in the line up. Jason Pearce was to start with Reeves in the 10 role, Clarke on the right and Marshall on the left, Aribo and JFC as the shield Konsa was preferred as the other CB with our first choice full backs.
Both teams started cautiously but Rovers had the better of the limited action on a cold, Lancashire, December, afternoon. Amos wasn't really tested but dealt with everything that came his way with safe hands. At the other end Josh had our first strike in earnest after 10 mins which was high and wide from outside the box. Then after a bright start Clarke seemed to get caught chasing back near our box and went down injured. After treatment and getting back to his feet gingerly he lasted a couple of minutes more before being replaced on 20mins by Best who went to CF and Josh wide left in his Nothern Ireland role. Then after not many touches Best scored a beauty on 30mins...............whilst back defending into his own goal with Amos stranded. First goals are crucial in these close encounters and Rovers by no means were outplaying us but yet again we mugged ourselves off; If only our strikers could score at the other end! A great chance did come our way on 40 mins with Best trying to atone played a lovely square ball to Reeves with only the keeper to beat and he made Churchino look like Peter Lorimer (he had a rocket shot for you youngsters) with a weak side foot pass back to their keeper. Halftime came and gave us time to regroup and maybe get something second period.
We weren't to be disappointed with the effort as we were the only team in it for the third quarter but despite our possession huffing and puffing their keeper was rarely troubled. Marshall had lots of ball but yet again no end product and if he's supposed to be one of the best wingers in this division then I'm Aladdin (if only I was and had a magic lamp to rid us of the Douchbag
) Josh tried and seemed happier not getting bashed up so much but nothing really came off for him and he cannot go past a player so has to check back on his right foot to cross in hope rather than pinpoint accuracy or he lays it back to midfield. Best tried and showed glimpses of what level he used to play at but a powder puff loopy header when well placed and his legs going 10 mins from time like he'd been shot with a tranquilliser dart summed his day up. His final contribution was to miss chesting the ball on from our throw, in the dying embers which led to their sub Graham lobbing Amos from an acute angle with virtually the last kick of the game.
In summary, today I thought we played more of a 433, were not outclassed, Blackburn really weren't that special but we don't have enough cutting edge and Reeves and Marshall have bitterly disappointed what I've seen of them. We'll win more than we lose before the season ends which is swiftly petering out into a top half finish but no cigars. Must win at home to Blackpool because Wigan will be a different kettle of fish to today's opposition

So disappointing today. Magennis was a nightmare, his confidence is shot. Supposed to be a target man, are you having a laugh?! Second half was promising but no end product. If I’m honest I didn’t even stay till the whistle, their last goal was enough for me.1

It was a poor game. We were listless and didn't seem to have any tactics in the 1st half. We gifted them a goal and offered nothing up front.
The second half we only looked better because Blackburn sat back and gave us time on the ball. I missed a few minutes but I don't believe those stats posted - we had 1 lame shot on target. 2-0 was a little harsh but the 2nd goal wasn't a surprise.
It's been an expensive day out but we met some oddly nice locals. We got shown some local pubs before the game, wished well, then met some new friends on the way back to Preston. I've been here before but I've found it a lot more welcoming than Burnley, Bolton etc.3 -
