Or no, he is out and it wasn't overturned...

I hate ESPNcricinfo jumping the gun.
  • Hope Cook carries his bat from here.

ESPNcricinfo says out and then not out and then out again. Nightmare.
  • Cook now England’s leading run scorer in the series.

Cook's score (244*) is the third highest in his test career. He made 243 in the summer against the West Indies.

Number one is 294 made against India at Edgbaston in 2011, number two is 265 made against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi in 2015.

Cook needs to hit a few, get us as close to 200 lead as possible.

In this innings, Cook also went past Jayawardene, Chanderpaul and Lara in the list of top test run scorers.

He's now sixth behind (jn reverse order) Sangakkara, Dravid, Kallis, Ponting and Tendulkar.

445 more runs to pass Sangakkara.

@golfaddick their openers will be wondering the dame thing. Would be good to bat on for another 30 minutes to an hour tomorrow to enhance their tension. Knowing England we will last one ball tomorrow.

    .

declare overnight or carry on batting into tomorrow ??

Golfie, cant believe you've said that !
Of course bat on, if we can bat another 30 mins, maybe get another 20 runs, totally demoralise them - allow them no way back.

    Spot on
  • A shame it's taken until the 4th test for Cook and Broad to rediscover their form

Adelaide was always going to be the best chance to win a Test in the first 3, with the day/night conditions being much more "English" like. If we had played to our potential there and won that match, the series could have been 2-1 with England ahead after 3 days...

Disagree! 5-10 overs of Australia batting at the end and hopefully nick 1 or 2 wickets.
Not sure if another 20 runs matters that much.

What end? Do you mean you want Cook and Jimmy to bat for 80 overs tomorrow ?!
