Mavidi, Vetekele, Umerah alongside Magennis & KAG would give options for rotation & resting players who have picked up a knock (that should reassure Vetekele). A fit Vetekele is an asset, playing behind the lead striker, might work a treat.

That forward line = another season in league one.

Gambling on young or crocked players is not the answer. I welcome Mavidi as an extra body but we need an in form L1 proven main striker as well I.e. Doyle, Aneke etc

Agree & that would be great, but it is only likely to happen as a loan (with Duchatelet). I don’t know whether Doyle or Aneke would be loans or not. Is Doyle Oldham & reported to be injured ? (Apologies have not trawled through the thread)
  • I think it will be Matt Godden

  • For sure we deed a proven and in form goal scorer at this level. As the second striker-

I have not given up on Best - imo he was getting better/match fit with every game. KR thought the same ( he was played as the no 9 ) until he got injured.

Although if KR succeeds in bringing in 2 strikers he would probably be out when his contract expires.

I think Aneke is more of an attacking mid. I would love him here though either way

It would be even better if he returned with our old left back, Paul Kanchelskis.

She really does - would be worth getting him back just for her

Sounds like a Pardew transfer policy!

Loan players are not the answer. Never seen a loan player really bust a gut or kiss the badge. They have no affinity for the club & in general aren't really interested.

We need a good striker suited to our league,
Sadly Josh misses far to many good chances.
He is a good player but NOT a good consistant striker.
We should have another 9 points on the board minimum
    But for missed chances.

Why do you think it would be a loan ?

There is a tweet further up from Alan Nixon(no idea) that says Charlton only looking at loan players, does Alan Nixon whoever he may be have a clue, probably not.

Edit: just looked he is a journo from Clyde whi supports Partick Thistle(likely he has no sources at Charlton and has just guessed at only loans)

I interpreted the Tweet differently .

'Heard still looking at loan players just now ' meant we were in for Mavididi or another Prem youngster . If we don't get any of those then maybe we would look at Godden again ?

Personally I would be happy with Best if he can get match fit.

Maybe is reading over the documents about debt payments to directors. Rolly needs all the help with legal documents he can get.

When you think who gave him his contract, he's probably organising his testimonial season ;)
