How do the Tories need to change?

You may well be right. But, if that is the case, they are even more stupid than we think. https://theguardian.com/politics/2017/sep/28/ethnic-minority-voting-gap-cost-theresa-may-28-seats-report-sayscabbles said:Can’t see Javid making much of a difference. The ethnic vote is of no interest to them.

Talking of Abbott, this has to be the most hypocritical comment i've ever heard from a politician. Simply astonishing that this clown is anywhere close to a senior cabinet position.STLeonards said:Amber Rudd is my MP. As a local MP she is brilliant. Absolutely tireless, and in the town every weekend without fail. She was hung out to dry by Theresa May, and it is shameful that fuck wits like Diane Abbot and the pro-Brexit, right wing of the Tory party were dancing on her grave all week.
Politics in this country is in a shameful state. None of the parties are working for the national good, just their own narrow spiteful partisan politics.
A pox on them all.

Something is not right with Abbott - you can see her struggling to articulate, whereas a few years ago she was appearing with Portillo on TV as a political commentator.0

.....and failing miserably then as well.MuttleyCAFC said:Something is not right with Abbott - you can see her struggling to articulate, whereas a few years ago she was appearing with Portillo on TV as a political commentator.
She was interviewed yesterday, I believe, by the rat that is Piers Morgan and she was as evasive as ever and didn't seem to have a clue about anything.
I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with her. I just genuinely believe she's an idiotic chancer.4 -
Cue the lines being trotted out about her being oxbridge alumni so she must be smart. My mum went to oxford, on a scholarship, I wouldn’t trust her to open the front door properly, the ditzy clutz, bless her.Big_Bad_World said:

It's called opportunist spin. Oh look, we'v been caught lieing again...let's roll out the token working class brown guy to tell everyone how disgusted he is with the situation.... and we can all pretend we didn't for anything wrong.A-R-T-H-U-R said:Have to say it's amazing its taken this long to have someone of Pakistani descent secure such an important cabinet post.
The son of a bus driver and a product of a regional northern post industrial town's state school.
Even more astonishing is that it is not a Labour party appointment.

There is definitely a difference - you can almost see her struggle to think.0

Have to agree, spend an evening on YouTube looking back at her time as a political commentator and she’s equally poor.

She looks ill and clearly has no clue on her own parties policy which is why she simply avoids answering the actual question. Once again she's left looking a complete and utter fool.1

Yeah, but look...The Shadow Home Secretary likes a bit of gardening. What a normal, down to earth, strong woman she is. Certainly puts her idiocy on the back burner:Bournemouth Addick said:.

Come on, look at the timing... the whole 'my dad was a windrush bus driver that arrived here with £1' and I was discusted by OUR policies. Its one step up from 'Im not racist, ive got brown mates'. Fair play though... people seem to suck it up and are back to slagging off abbot, when May should have walked too.kentaddick said:

Tory Home Secretary is forced to quit over lying to MP's and the public about pursuing a disgusting, shameful policy resulting in the enforced detention, withdrawal of medical treatment and lost jobs of 100's of innocent British citizens...yeah but...Diane Abbot once got herself tied up in knots over some police numbers in an interview!Chris_from_Sidcup said:She looks ill and clearly has no clue on her own parties policy which is why she simply avoids answering the actual question. Most definitely equal to one another...

I think it's great for that the Tories have diversity at the highest levels. Shows being a knob crosses all boundaries.kentaddick said:

Don't forget that she's also a massive racist. Something that some people will completely ignore, which is ironic really seeing as racism is such a disgusting trait for anyone to have.Bournemouth Addick said:

I have little doubt that, once in power, Diane Abbott will reassert her incompetence in more impactful ways. It's only lack of opportunity that holds her back.Bournemouth Addick said:

"White people love playing 'divide & rule'. We should not play their game"
Very confusing use of the word 'we' in that tweet. Not to mention the overtly racist suggestion that 'white people' love playing divide and rule. She was actually being very divisive herself and was called out on it by pretty much everyone, other than many staunch labour supporters.
Here's the BBC article in case you missed it:

There are more but I'll refrain from posting them all unless you wish to see them.0 -
Diane Abbott is a poor interviewee, yet on Saturday morning while all the string of Tories were lining up on different platforms to say Rudd should not resign, Michael Gove in an interview with John Humphrey says that the BBC is 'weaponising' the Windrush scandal.
In the face of actual people really suffering the strategy was and is to turn on the BBC or Abbott. FFS.
Javid is supposed to have sorted the victims of Grenfell, nearly a year on it hasn't happened, and Boris Johnson has washed his hands of the woman in an Iranian jail once he made things worse for her. Yeah, and the Tories have got Brexit well under control...not.
The story is about the present government and its current actions, the shadows remain there until elected.
If the Tories are so much better than Labour we will presumably see that made manifest on Thursday. London will turn blue?

But 'massive '?
I am less sure about that, we can point score to and fro as in Boris describing black people as 'picanninnies with watermelon smiles'. The reality is those Windrush folk actually suffering because of Tory policies, and that is the issue in front of us.3 -

More chance of Sunderland remaining in the Championship next year. Generally London only turns blue when Labour have been in Power for a while.ShootersHillGuru said:seth plum said:Diane Abbott is a poor interviewee, yet on Saturday morning while all the string of Tories were lining up on different platforms to say Rudd should not resign, Michael Gove in an interview with John Humphrey says that the BBC is 'weaponising' the Windrush scandal.

I have had Liberals, Labour and Tory knock on my door this time.
Got a right result from the Tory as I managed to get her to say 'well I won't waste any more of your time' five times before she managed to get away.
I was about to get her on to Tory Vegetarian policy as we had covered the rest.4 -
I felt they made a bigger play for what you could term your working class white van man because of brexit and UKIP, but really can’t see how their values align with a large percentage of ethnic minority voters.cafcfan said:
