Start selling tickets like Shrewsbury, that would be a good start.DA9 said:With a bank holiday and a game on Thursday, the club had no way of getting tickets out via the normal process/post due to time restrictions, neither would they have the staff or resources to manage the initial flood, or the queue for 16000+ collections on Thursday, I think it’s a good decision (despite the admin fee from ticketmaster)
Damned if they do, damned if they dont, would like to know others views on how else they should have done it?
All they have done is complicate things.1 -
The only problem I had was buying the empty seat next to mine as the rows are not number. Other than that very simple.0
-
How do they sell them then?ElfsborgAddick said:

It's mentioned every sentence, a bit of a pointing out what was wrong for the last two years.
The club or someone recognises is the fact now.
Need to move on and forget1 -
Will give it a bash on Tuesday when they go on general sale. If too much grief will just rock and roll down to The Valley on Thursday afternoon and pick one up over the counter. No stress required! Anyone know if the Kat tax still applies to buying them on Thursday?0
-
@SoundAsa£ I'm probably going down to The Valley on 9am on Thursday, if you've not found anyone to get you a ticket, let me know and I'll get you one, too.SoundAsa£ said:
A lot of this procedure relies upon you being computer literate. I wouldn’t have a clue how to set up a hotmail account and I don’t really want one.DA9 said:Set up a new hotmail account?
I already have 3 email accounts. It seems like you have to jump through a lot of computer hoops stuff that people of my generation find hard to deal with and quite frankly don’t trust.
For one, I have no idea what my customer number is, so how can I find that out.? Without that I don’t have a chance on line right from the get go.
Since I left SE London I haven’t had a season ticket for several years and now live a long way from The Valley.
I just want to rock up at The Valley around Thursday lunchtime and buy a ticket or get a pal (who lives in Eltham) to get me one sometime during the week, why can’t that be done.....what could be more simple?0 -
Shrewsbury have the advantage of 2 extra days to get out in the post, our game is too tight a deadline, and if everyone reserved and collected on the night, the queues would be horrendousElfsborgAddick said:

Big cock up by someone.
You have to follow the instructions carefully to get to the right screen to enter your name and number,0 -
Followed the instructions on the o\s linked mine and another season ticket and bought both. It's easy to link but you need to send a request in order to manager their tickets.0

I was pissed off as Thursday will be the 2nd home game I will miss in 20 years...Glad I am not going through this fiasco now...I don't trust the post have BHM in between and would mean I would have had to take a day off from where I live to guarantee a ticket....shambles....this will put a lot of people off.0

The club have made this patently clear.
If you don't read what the club has said, it's hardly the clubs fault is it ?1 -

Would be a lot easier if you were allocated a "free" play off ticket in your season ticket book in the event if we make it again in the future.2
-
Season ticket card I meant obviously.0
-
Pretty straight forward really.
Not entirely sure why there wasn't the option to just buy online using the usual ticketing system as well, as I've previously bought tickets that way before, to print at home. I guess the club's system isn't set up to deal with giving ST holders their actual seat only.0 -

The vast majority of the queries and complaints on this thread, is because fans have either not read the instructions at all or not read them properly.
The club has comprehensively laid out the procedures, including being able to phone up rather than use IT.
The main issue is if people don't have a printer, but the club have even offered to print them out, although not on the match day (understandably).
I respectively suggest that anyone having problems reread the instructions on the official site.
A couple of my mates had issues because they hadn't read the instructions properly. When they did it was straightforward.
Ok there will be some people with genuine problems, but once again the club have given helplines to call.
The ticketing has been a shambles at times under this ownership, but on this occasion I believe they have done the right thing.
Considering the time constraints of having to sell home tickets, away tickets and S/T's today, it was the right thing to do and please don't blame the club, if you can't be bothered to read the instructions or ring the helplines given.
Let's try and enjoy ourselves, we deserve it.8 - Sponsored links:

Their biggest crowd all season was just over 8k and i assume that was when an away side took 1500-2000 fans.
Plus as DA9 says they've a) known for weeks when they were going to be playing and b) have extra days to sell tickets1 -
Very easy to do once I found 'reserved seats' on the drop down menu. Probably was a way to not pay two transaction fees....
Now I just need to decide who I am going to invite along on the 12 other tickets we can get0 -
