I am a VG member but not a ST holder, how do I get a CRN number?0

No, it's over the counter.Baldybonce said:
Is that at the Valley through Ticketmaster?E-cafc said:Tickets can only be purchased from The Valley on Thursday once Ticketmaster have returned the data for the unsold seats. From Tuesday 9am non season ticket holders can purchase through Ticketmaster until Wednesday 2pm when tickets go off sale.

Absolute nightmare.
I’ve just come off the site having ordered a lawnmower and arranging for a pizza to be delivered at 7 tonight.13 -
I get that. However the phrase for most people is telling. If most people can use the technological system then one avenue open for a minority of people wouldn't overwhelm the system I would've thought.redman said:
Our online computer systems couldn't have coped with the demand. Our phone lines couldn't have coped with the demand.LargeAddick said:

With respect the ticketing arrangements appear to be working well with tickets downloaded by many people today. Ticketmaster are geared up to selling tickets quickly. This number of sales could not have been done with the normal ticketing system.blackpool72 said:

The bottom line is Roland is a cnut.
If our club was being run like it should be we could all get our tickets in the normal way.
But as we are being run by a cnut chaos ensues.
Just sell the club and FUCK OFF
You are entitled to your views about the ownership but somebody in authority worked out how to cope with just a few days to set up after the opponents had been determined. If we had been playing Rotherham having finished fifth more time would have been available.
BTW the downloaded ticket looks just like the normal Charlton ticket.
Could have easily have opened the Box Office today and tomorrow from 9am to 5pm and done the job themselves.
For most people buying online via the tickemaster system is far easier and more practical than a personal visit to the Valley. And in any event if the database is the thing that is causing problems this would be as true at the box office as for the ticketmaster system.1 -

Fantasy, I completely agree with you. But if it gives that money grabbing belgian twunt a bit of a disappointment on Thursday I'm happy to go with it.Airman Brown said:All unsold tickets will then be printed at The Valley and any remaining tickets will go back on sale at 9am on Thursday, May 10th. It is anticipated that all tickets could have sold out by this time but any remaining tickets will be available to purchase in person from The Valley or through The Valley’s phone lines.
“Anticipated” by whom? Does the club understand nothing about its own supporters or basic statistics?
I am struggling to think of any circumstances in which the club has sold 24,000 home match tickets to its own supporters at full price in advance. In fact I’m not sure it has ever happened in Charlton’s entire history.
There were 14,000 home fans, officially, for Blackburn, including comps - there would need to another 10,000 sold to sell out, which is more than at any game in the last six years including football for a fiver, for a televised Thursday night first leg match against Shrewsbury Town, with comps restricted by the rules and all ST holders paying. That is complete fantasy.2 -
I managed to purchase my ticket with no problems
. The only thing is I gave them the wrong email address and now my ticket has gone to a complete stranger
.

The problem is not that our generation don’t understand computers, smart phones etc and how to use them it’s that the younger generation, that creates the stuff today for people to respond to, doesn’t. To create something truly simple to navigate and user friendly you have to understand what it is you are aiming to achieve, how computers and smart phones actually work, have a reasonable command of the English language and, above all, be familiar with a totally mind blowing concept called LOGIC.thickandthin63 said:People of the younger generation, will probably have no trouble negotiating the ticket buying procedure,as they have been brought up in an increasingly technical environment.War babies like me are in the shit whenever something needing the use of computers is required.Had it not been for a friends timely intervention I would have reduced my lap top to dust trying to buy tickets.I have no printer, and I cant tell a smart phone from a thick as shit phone,I have no doubt that some supporters dont even have access to the internet, but it now seems that the technically ignorant members of society are at a disadvantage especially in situations such as this.

Anyone who bought their tickets over the phone, what number did you ring?
I called Ticketmaster and they said Charlton had given out the wrong phone number (big fucking surprise!!), they gave me a number that no bastard will answer! The normal ticket office phone number isn't answering.1 - Sponsored links:

08444 539074 works , I think so anyway2

Got mine online - took about 45 minutes and a few phone calls to the helpline, who were very helpful.
I had to purchase one for myself and one for my eight year old.
This may has been discussed, but you have a add other Members to your 'Network' in order to buy their season ticket seats also. The trouble was for me is that it didn't let me activate my Son's account due to his Date of Birth. The chap on the helpline said this shouldn't happen and activated the account for me. Sorted. Or not as the case was. He was added but I couldn't see my Son in the reserved seats section. Spoke to the helpline again and he could see both tickets (but this was at the same time as I went in to the Network section and edited the preferences so I could manage his tickets... which I then had to go back to his account to accept the request).
Bit of a pain but wanted to get it sorted for any future matches and didn't want to spend ages on the phone to a 0844 number.0 -
The word 'should' is a great favourite to be used when things manifestly go wrong.
It excuses everything.1 -

The simple way. Why can we not do this?
We could have started selling tickets today. If that was not possible we start selling from 9am Monday and do a 12 hour day.0 -
All sorted, called ticketmaster directly and they had all my details..COYRcafc_4life said:I am a VG member but not a ST holder, how do I get a CRN number?

IF this is true it goes against the information regarding personal callers buying tickets at some rather vague time during this week.guinnessaddick said:0 -
To redman, have you ever tried phoning ticket master,It would probably take just as long as the online debacle0

Until Wednesday, then any remaining tickets will be digitally uploaded/sent back to the club to be manually printed and sold as normal over the phone or at the ticket office on the day from 9am.guinnessaddick said:

For probably 80% of people the system is likely to be fine and dandy.
Which is great for those folk.
However the mood music a few years ago was about wanting to 'drive ticket buying online.
Drive is an interesting word to use rather than persuade, or entice or incentivise because it feels a bit like fans are being herded.
It would work better if what the club require was a simple user friendly system.
A couple of years ago I found that printed tickets needed A4 paper per ticket, used up all the printer ink by having big colourful adverts for vile Macdonalds. Not that used friendly I thought. Since not having a ST for the past two seasons (and admittedly I live close enough to do it) it has been so much easier for me to go to the Valley and buy in person, or at least it feels easier than the daunting technological offering.
It is also off putting that the club thinks we all have fzcebook and twktter.I
The system needs to cater for the range of fans not only one type.3 -

Followed the instructions with no problems.
Well done to the club for putting a system in place, subcontracting the worlds leading ticket seller was a good idea.
As a business they should not have enough resource sitting around to service this time of one off event.
It feels like the barriers and hurdles to overcome are off putting, but I suppose being a loyal long term fan is not the same as being a customer.

Surely some of the blame for the stress and angst caused must go to the Football league/Fa or whoever for having the fixtures so soon after a bank holiday weekend. Neither game times are fan friendly but I guess they're catering for TV.7

Got my CRN number and print at home ticket on the phone (08444 539074) after a 20 minute wait to get through and a 10 minute transaction.0

The ability of Ticketmaster to do the job is not in question, just WHY the need for a £2.50 transaction fee when I', printing the f***ing ticket myself? Have tweeted this question to Ticketmaster and to CAFC with no response yet.Fortune 82nd Minute said:
