There's your answer. :-)Manicmania said:if the ref passes up a red card review can he still give a yellow or is it red or nothing?

Well done ref.0

I think they are just applying the rules correctly. Six (I think) substitutions = 3 minutes + 1 goal is a total of 3 1/2 minutes before you account for any injury and VAR delays.Manicmania said:has any game so far had less than 5 minutes injury time? I know there's VAR to account for now but still - I've only been half watching this one did I miss a long injury?
Edit. Actually the goal would have been accounted for in first half injury time.0 -
I thought so too.Manicmania said:did I just see a costa rican player throw a slap there?

Referees have been good throughout. Maybe the VAR helps them. Ref in last game was spot on throughout.
Disapointed with Costa Rica. Serbia deserved the win. They won't be pulling up any trees in this tournament though!0 -
I think the only country that can feel genuinely aggrieved about any decision is Argentina and the penalty they did not get.MuttleyCAFC said:Referees have been good throughout. Maybe the VAR helps them. Ref in last game was spot on throughout.

I wonder if other countries studio analysts are as demographically diverse as the English ones?0
-
This ITV panel is complete shit. All four of them.1

I think they just glossed over that first incident in the studio there - would like to see that again it looked like he raised his hands there.Bournemouth Addick said:

By the next World Cup all TV analysts on U.K. Television will either be female, non white, gay or lesbian.DRAddick said:I wonder if other countries studio analysts are as demographically diverse as the English ones?

But the one they got wasn't a penalty so cancels out their aggrievement .0 -
He was an excellent player but Lawrenson is frustrating to listen to. Keane always seems like he can't be arsed. Aluko did alright, even disagreed with Larson - I like disagreement - it is a game of opinions - and different ones should be encouraged -and she had a good point!Red_in_SE8 said:

Having seen the VAR replays several times I have to agree with the referee and most TV pundits and conclude the penalty decision they did get was 100% correct.DRAddick said:Red_in_SE8 said:

Strange. Most pundits watching the replay I've seen agreed it wasn't a penalty. The Argentinian deliberately instigated the contact.Red_in_SE8 said:

Evra just wants to be loved. Zero actual insight.1
-
There should be a rule that the Argentinians don't get anything. End of!
BTW- Dowie is a decent co-commentator. A crap manager maybe, but he doesn't annoy like some!1 -
Am i alone in thinking Dowie is alright?1
-
Not alone.
Look above! Probably not more than two of us though!

I was also bemused at finding Dowie wasn't unbearable. Certainly less so than Keown or Murphy.0

Really? He’s so limited. How many times did he repeat the phrase ‘gilt-edged chance’ (despite there being 2 at the most) during that game? He also said ‘drop deep’ every 5 minutes and at the end wouldn’t stop going on about how the Serbian attacker had been grabbed. (“Look, he’s grabbed him. You can see he’s grabbed him. Then he grabs him. But he did grab him.”) It was like listening to someone who had never commentated before but had read a short book of football commentary cliches.MuttleyCAFC said:There should be a rule that the Argentinians don't get anything. Dreadful pundit. He also clapped after Aluko gave her opinion before the game which seemed a bit patronising. She'd clearly done some research into the teams, whereas he'd just turned up.ValleyGary said:Evra just wants to be loved. Zero actual insight.

Didn't grate on me like a few do. Lawro goes on and on and on and on and..........JaShea99 said:

Barry Davies and Lawro and half the country will be looking for a bridge to jump off!
Anyway - COME ON MEXICO!!!!!2 -
Yeah that's how I saw it, he wasn't grating, which just made a change.0
-
The German team look strong but hopefully Mexico can really push them.1
-
Good start for the Mexicans.1
-
Lively start to this3

The female pundits are amongst the best, probably because they feel the need to do some actual research (you know, like journalists do) rather than turn up and spout whatever comes into their heads.Chris_from_Sidcup said:
