like everything in life, don't shove it in my face and do what you like. I'm tempted by veganism, I'm even willing to believe that in 200 years we will all mostly be vegan and in a thousand years we'd be cringing and saying how gross it was that we ate meat much like how we do the same over roman delicacies like door mice.

MMM, that owl looks tasty. I wonder what they taste like? Is there a culture that eats them?

I'm having pasta and meatballs (mixture of beef and pork) in a tomato sauce for my dinner tonight.

Just saw a story on MSN about some Kiwi's getting the hump because air New Zealand is offering a vegan burger on one of their services. It's not like it seems to be the only option, they just appear not to want to give people a choice. That's the other extreme.

It doesn't occur to Vegans that if overnight we all became Vegans then within 6 months we would all be dead, because there isn't enough space on earth to grow enough crops to feed us all. Plus all the animals would be dead anyway ....think it through yer pasty faced, no energy, pain in the arse, hard to feed tree huggers.

If God didn't mean for us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them taste so nice- Homer Simpson.

I have no issue with veganism.
But the hardcore vegans who simply have to tell you that they are a vegan every five minutes and that any non-vegans must therefore hate all animals can do one.

Not a vegan nor will I ever be, but this isn't true. A large proportion of crops grown are for animal feed. Feed it to humans instead and there's less need for land.
    Yes it is true.

Part of my company design Refrigeration plants for slaughter houses, we have just taken on a Vegan, could be interesting, it was pointed out to him, and he still accepted the job. Funny enough what we didn’t think through through was his request for a Vegan car, we didn’t even realise there was such a thing, we came to a agreement he would use his own car and charge mileage until we could sort something.

The thing I can’t understand is how can a vegan being involved in the design of slaughter houses especially when we do go live side whilst slaughtering take place. Just can’t work that out.

Will happily switch to vat grown meat once it's perfected/cost effective, until then, sorry, too much of my diet is meat/fish/egg based to consider vegetarianism/veganism as an option.

You're right about animals being dead but you're not right about us being dead. I'm not vegan/veggie either (but I do believe veganism is a natural progression in human evolution), but it's a fact that about 90% of land used by humans for food is now used to farm animals, or to grow food to feed those animals, or to grow crap like sugar cane. Very little is used to produce fruit and veg for humans to eat. If land usage was changed we would be ok.

He may have misread the advert - thought it was Laughter Houses.

Reminds me of a time many decades ago when one of my supervisors took on a guy and when he turned up first day on the training course he was very surprised that it wasn't about making books. He didn't last long.

I watched a bit of that video and I wouldn't mind being hung up and run past that plucking machine like the chickens, it would save me a fortune in Veet with my hairy back.
