Am sure there are a good few English Players like that though
Walker and Sterling (Jamaica) | Alli (Nigeria) | Welbeck (Ghana) are the stand out examples for us1 -
whoops0
-
Game over me thinks... Uruguay look rubbish without Cavani0
-
Feel sorry for Muslera
Clearly still concussed from Ramos hitting him in the 1st half4 -
Gary Neville was bloody brilliant there though...0
-
A* for the Cameraman finding the crying Uruguay child
Paddy Power will be loving that spot2 -

Oh look, the South American sides do have the same football culture
When you start losing, turn into pricks!!
Edit: Apologies Uruguay, that was Mbappe being the prick!!0 -
here we go the patented South American fuse blown already. Godin in full on pissed up bloke spoiling for a fight outside the pub mode, Suarez giving it large behind him - sure he is getting his gnashers ready now too.0

To be fair, wouldnt have happened had Mbappe not taken a lesson from Neymar thoughManicmania said:here we go the patented South American fuse blown already. who shot Mbappe ?0

Why'd they pick Portugal for Griezmann? He was born in France.paulie8290 said:
Yes, his mum is Portuguese. His dad is German though.0 -
Here we go the Uraguyans showing their true colours at last just as I predicted. They never fail to disappoint me with their histrionics. Home you go with your already departed cheating cousins you nasty, niggly, fouling scumbags.2

Giroud is also French but has two Italian grandmothers................ seems tenuous at best.1

A load of racist nonsense. England have as many players in our the starting XI born outside of the country than France do.Callumcafc said:

Very loose use of the word ‘interesting’ as well5

It'll always be something that people will debate in Sport and with immigration continuing there will only be more cases like it - Froome | Wiggins are examples of how the reverse could have happened with them turning their backs on their heritage and racing for Kenya and Belgium respectively... Our Athletics team is cases where Team GB have benefited especially from Mo Farah, hell had we been quick enough (see what I did there) we probably could have claimed Usain BoltThe Red Robin said:

All constant reminders of the various Empires that spanned the globe prior to the Great War1 -
Agreed it's always going to be there from some people in society. It's quite overtly racist in my opinion, however they try to dress it up. If someone loves our country so much (Farah), that they want to represent us in any sport, then I'm all for it.ForeverAddickted said:

I have more of an issue with players like Diego Costa, and Deco who treat countries like clubs and just defect to get more football or win trophies.2 -
@paulie8290 not so much flagging you, more the content of the tweet you posted.0

Yeh saw that Laporte (Man City) may change his alleigance to Spain because France dont want himThe Red Robin said:

I think when you get to Senior Football thats when you should have decided who you play for (Maybe even by U21 level)0 -

We're in no position to criticise. None of our players are from France.paulie8290 said:13 -
Why on earth did that Uruguay player look really red in the face when they stood in the wall
They looked close to tears, almost as though they were terrified of an impending ball in the nuts0 -
