His contract has been automatically extended so I doubt he is training with us, more likely to come in on a loan. But I hadn't heard anything, my mate swears blind Luke Steele was asked to join us for training but declined.FAVADDICK said:So is there anymore news on David Martin is he actually training with us or going to join on loan as someone has said anybody know more on this ??

Have it on good authority that Martin is in training with Andy Marshall.0
-
But if he's in training has he been let go by millwall as nothing has been said by the club0
-
Would certainly be very strange that he's training with us while still being under contract at Millwall.0

Still not common for players under contract to go on trial at other clubs as far as I am aware. I mean what if they got injured in training and were ruled out for months?Redrobo said:

LOL, if you think Jack Marriott, who scored 33 goals last season, is a straight-up swap for Mag.ForeverAddickted said:We'd be mad to sell him to a rival at this level!! - Should only sell him to them if they offer to do a swap for Jack Marriott

Happens a lot, Dean Lewington was training with us last season whilst under contract at MK donscafcfan1990 said:Would certainly be very strange that he's training with us while still being under contract at Millwall.

Well that’s 1 player and I believe there was a major fall out at MKI-SAW-POUSO-PLAY said:

I had a brief chat with Ray Lewington in a restaurant before the MK game … he wasn't too forthcoming about his son's time with us but hinted that after so long with the Dons, a move might have been beneficial .. of course, it never came to anythingcafcfan1990 said:

I am sure other people will know more players that have trained with us but been under contract with other teams. It does happen quite a bit.cafcfan1990 said:

That’ll be Pearce injured in the next game.Scoham said:
Our squad is so light on numbers but also quality. And particularly attacking quality.
Quite worried about this season. Some saying we’ll only be mid table. I think we’ll struggle to stay up.1 -
very few clubs in our division have money to spend .. they are all out shopping around for bargains and freebies .. wait and see how the signings pan out before writing the season off before it startsValley11 said:

But we’re already better off up front with Lyle Taylor in the team.Valley11 said:

According to some at Millwall, Martin should have been their number one last season. I take back my previous comment. If he joins, i think it will be as a number 1. IMHO4

But weaker in goal, at left back, only have one fit right back. We don’t know how Pratley will compare to Kashi.JamesSeed said:

The signs of a bad season are there, much like they were 10 years ago in 08/09 when we got relegated from the Champ.
Look at the injury problems we’ve had over the last four years. This squad has even less depth than any of those did.
I’ll feel better if we get a couple of signings in soon, or the takeover goes through.2 -
I think that Neil Harris is on record as saying that if one of his three goalies wants to go out on loan, that wouldn’t be an issue. He mentioned no names but with Amos and Archer there, Martin is most unlikely to get any meaningful game time.
If there is anything in these rumours and Martin comes to us, I’d much prefer Dillon Phillips to start the season as first choice, with Martin on the bench. Apart from being a very good goalkeeper, I think that Dillon has earned his chance over the last couple of years, plus he is actually our player. Whilst the loanee goalies over the past two seasons have served us well, why not give our homegrown player a chance to establish himself, especially one who’s never let us down ? If we don’t he’ll undoubtedly be off next summer.18
