I am well aware. But to me there are worse things in life than Charlton being in League One, and the way that these Kleptocrats made their money, how they use it, and who they support with it is a bigger problem in my view. Same with the rumored Saudi takeover.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Can Lookout or AFKA copy and paste the Zabeel thread and add it to this one?
Just do a find and replace with Zabeel being replaced by Usmanov.
It'll save us all having to type the same excitement and disappointment from then.3 -
According to this site https://footballtransferleague.co.uk/sources/newspapers since summer 2006 The Daily Mirror has printed 11,026 "rumours and 2,417 of them have been right. A strike rate of 21.9%. Which is not very good. By any standards.
What's quite interesting though is that their "success" rate is much better for some clubs, eg Burnley 40.2% and Bournemouth 32.6% than they are with most other clubs. My guess would be that the Mirror journos have decent sources at those clubs but absolutely no ITK contacts whatsoever at Brighton were they manage a truly abysmal failure rate of 87.2%.
In short, I'm not holding my breath.1 -

Let’s put this to bed.
Alisher Usmanov is the 37th richest man in the world. He’s not going to buy Charlton. As of last year he was worth $19.6 Billion.
I suspect that his proposed investment in Everton has hit a snag and he’s put out this ridiculous rumour to apply pressure up in Liverpool.
As you were.10 -

"Lieven De Turck has has been representing Charlton in recent takeover talks with an Australian consortium, and supporters’ groups are angry that Duchatelet will dodge the meeting, although manager Lee Bowyer has said the club could be sold in the next week.Weegie Addick said:https://standard.co.uk/sport/football/charlton-fans-fury-as-owner-roland-duchatelet-skips-meeting-a3930166.html
Includes Bowyer's takeover musings.
Bowyer, who was named as Duchatelet’s ninth permanent manager yesterday after six months in a caretaker role, told Standard Sport: “I spoke to him [Duchatelet] and he did mention the takeover. His words were, ‘It could happen within the next week but I’ve been thinking that for a long time’. It will get done."

I think the Liverpool Echo is part of the Mirror group of papers, so it's just cut and paste from the parent paper.Dazzler21 said:https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aisher-usmanov-set-invest-london-15121780

Is Usmanov really going to be the best man for the job of new owner?
Being from the Soviet Union he's more used to building walls than knocking them down0 -
