  • Won't be long until we score 500.
  • Hoping Gayle can put some pressure on our bowlers. We need the practice.

I find it weird that getting Root out early can actually hurt you.
On a pitch like this it makes more sense to play the 5 big hitters but then Root can be so important when the aggression backfires.
Absolutely - Root has an ODI average of almost 52 and is arguably a better batsman in this form of the game than he is at Test level.

Whether I would play him in front of say Hales in T20s is debatable though simply because at top 6 of Roy, Bairstow, Hales, Morgan, Stokes and Buttler means that the hitting would be relentless for all of those 20 overs. Even if we lose wickets, with Moeen/Curran/Woakes coming in next it's not as if they can't keep the momentum going.
  • This is amazing.
  • field is crazy
World record for most 6s in a one day international .
Put the fielders where you want they can't catch them.
  • I can't believe we've hit 24 6's and broken the world record in a one dayer.
Who said the rule today should have been over the boundary and out.

    Buttler b Brathwaite 150
  • 418-6   50 overs

    Stokes out last ball.
  • Absolutely brutal from JB. Can’t ignore the good start Hales and Bairstow got us but Buttler and Morgan were absolutely incredible.

  • Morgan is on absolutely fire himself and fully deserving his place rather then being chosen because he is the captain. That hasn’t always been the case
  • When one sees the pies and long hops that are being served up by Bishoo and Nurse it makes one appreciate a bit more Moeen and Rashid.
I take that back. This is an absolute road and even Alistair Cook could hit a 50 ball hundred on it!
  • Gayle is a machine
  • 252-4 off 28. At the same stage we were 182-3!!!

    252-4 from 28 overs

    Gayle 131 n/o from 72 balls

WI need 167 from 132 balls
  • Easy peasy. and Braithwaite in next if they need him. Looks like our score is going to be too low.

If the Windies were batting first you couldn't rule out 600 at this rate!
Someone will score 500 in this World Cup.
  • WI look very good apart from the bowling.
  • Game over I suspect.

And their fielding! Their catching has been horrendous this tour.
  • I agree there regarding their fielding.
  • Well done, Benny boy !

    Or not

If we lose this we only have ourselves to blame when Holder went I looked England were 1/12

    Now Even
  • Rashid takes out the two established batsmen in two balls. Swings back to us.
  • WI need 30 from 14 balls with two wickets remaining.
  • Make that three wickets in four balls.

  • Shame Braithwaite is still there.

Four wickets in five balls and it’s all over.

WI loses four wickets for no runs in five balls.

    England win by 29.

He was the second wicket of four in the over.
