Rouse got a few runs in the early 50 over matches last season before Bilbo got back.killerandflash said:
Riley I wasn't surprised about as Qayyum has tended to be ahead of him in white ball cricket. Robinson is more surprising, as Rouse is hardly know for his explosive white ball batting.Addick Addict said:
Neither Robinson or Riley were in the 14 and are playing in the current 2s game against MCC Young Cricketers which started yesterday. Both are being saved from first team duty so they can turn our for Bexley in their first friendly of the season on Saturday!killerandflash said:Slightly surprised Robinson isn't playing. Rouse keeps wicket, Klaassen makes his debut0 -
Ball doing very little.....good batting track.
No real pace though and our bowlers are more or less all delivering at the same pace.0 -
If that is rmf I think Cricinfo's correspondent, Mr Magoo, needs to change their glasses!LenGlover said:
I believe Blake has had problems with his back in the past which stopped him bowling the medium pace stuff he used to bowl.killerandflash said:
It's always surprised me that he never tried bowling before. Even with his excellent fielding, unless you're world class a pure batsman at 6 or 7 is a bit of a luxuryAddick Addict said:I wondered why Blake has been bowling spin for the 2s. With DBD back bowling too we aren't short of options.
Spin bowling may not exacerbate the problem perhaps.
EDIT:
All that said he is bowling rmf according to cricinfo.0 -

Anybody going to Beckenham on sunday?0

From what I saw the one thing we were short of was options! A very similar attack.Addick Addict said:I wondered why Blake has been bowling spin for the 2s. With DBD back bowling too we aren't short of options.1 -

unfortunately not but should be heading there next Saturday for the match against Pakistan.0 -
Sadly no, as family commitments. Otherwise it would have been perfect as the weather looks goodAddickted2TheReds said:Anybody going to Beckenham on sunday?0 -
Apart from Stevens, we've put out quite a young side today. In the absence of the injured Kuhn, Rouse is, suprisingly, captain as well as keeper:
Z Crawley SR Dickson MT Renshaw AJ Blake AP Rouse (c) † DI Stevens OG Robinson HW Podmore FJ Klaassen ME Milnes Imran Qayyum 0 -
Somerset raced to 166-2 off 24 but have been pegged back a bit at 188-4 off 29.2
