  • That was one of the most plumb LBW's I've ever seen.

    8 down.

How do tickets work for the tests, I often get home from work about 4, would it still be full price to get in then to watch the rest of the day?
Tests are sold by the day

That is one of the flaws of day night Test matches in the UK for live spectators, as apart from the weather and dew issues, it's not as if you can rock up after work and watch a session. Instead all it does is inconvenience the people who go for the day.

Two wickets in an over for Stewart!

    Scores level, Somerset 139-7
    Cue a big partnership.

17 wickets so far in the day. What will the points deduction be?
How many of the wickets have been down to the pitch? Is it a case of atmospheric conditions helping the bowlers?

Or, heaven forbid, county batsmen thinking they can play like Viv Richards when their natural level is more Keith Richard?
    That's the 64,000 dollar question.

The Charlton fan in me, especially with Roland hanging around like bad drains, worries that Kent will suffer somehow.

Hopefully it's good bowling / poor batting as you suggest.

169 all out Somerset lead by 30.

The downside is 12 overs to survive tonight!

What is the record for wickets in a day in the CC?!
Back when Dicky Bird was a player rather than an umpire two innings for each team were completed in a day and he got a pair!

That was late fifties early sixties.

I think on reflection I may be wrong about both teams. It was just Dicky I think.

EDIT: However Kent actually won a match in a day around that time!

I didn't voice opinion on that. I’m at Arundel watching Sussex grind out bonus points before the rain kills it off.

You mean you don't expect us to knock a quick 200, declare than bowl Somerset out for 120?

The only way we could bowl them out for 120 is if we had them 9 down for 15 runs.

    This is an embarrassment.

Management have got to come out and explain such a performance.
