There's plenty of football clubs that the owners would love to sell.
Why persist in trying to buy Charlton for the last two years knowing that the owner is a deluded old fool.
Why not just buy another club instead.
Something just doesn't add up to me
Even a bad smell disappears eventually.
Have you ever been to Bury St Edmunds?

Tease! Without revealing what you’ve heard, would you say it’s positive news?

Very worrying. I can’t see a takeover stopping a signing getting over the line.

Bows leaving for Derby would though!

Why tell us then? If you can’t pass it on then don’t say anything until you can. #bemorelikeredhenry

The clock is ticking down very quickly and Roland knows if he wants a sale this side of the transfer window he is going to have to compromise somewhere along the line. For me Mehmet ticks all the boxes for the type of owner we want.I believe he wants to buy us but I guess there is a limit to his patience dealing with someone like Roland. Here is hoping......

Just heard that Roland is offering to compromise a bit. Unsure if it'll be enough to swing it though. It's possible though.
The price is now 42m instead of 40.

Reams has a strike rate that makes Simon Church look prolific . I don’t believe a word .
Hate to say I told you so
Unless I’ve missed something what’s changed to make him wrong?
Unless I’ve missed something what makes you think it’s going to be done by Monday ?

In takeover terms 'early next week' is between now and 2089.

I'm sorry, but is there really any need for that sort of comment? What does it actually achieve?
Just smacks of "I know something that you don't"!
Not a dig at you, just feedback. Maybe empathy isn't one of your stronger suits James?
    This.
News about the takeover affects my mood. One minute there’s a glimmer of hope the next it’s all dashed. Posting stuff like that is just toying with us and unnecessary IMHO. It’s not a fecking game to some of us.
    This.

Stop jumping the gun, we are still on page 1815.

It would be amazing if we get cleanly bought out at £33M and the loans are "taken care of" (whatever that means.) But given we know the following...
    1. Debt to Staprix + Directors was £67M at the end of 2017-18 and likely went higher after 2018-19.
    2. Roland wanted £60-70M while we were in League One, basically the debt he claims CAFC owes him on the books
    3. His mouthpiece at fan forums stated potential buyers who bid less would need "creative" ways to fund the gap
    4. He wanted player sell-on fees to fund the gap
    5. He has said on more than on occasion that he might keep assets of the club and lease them back
Well.... it just seems not at all like Roland to suddenly sell the club at 1/2 what he wanted now that we have been promoted to the Championship, where club values actually rise. Roland does not seem like the type to just give-up nor does he seem like the type to accept reality now when being in a higher league puts him in a better position than one year ago. Even when I hear we are sold I will be holding my breath a bit until ALL the details of the takeover are public and we discover whether he still has his stinking paws in the club through other means. Having new "owners" is one thing. Having new owners while Roland owns the Valley and leases it back to us for ten years is another. Perhaps my hesitancy is just a Pavlovian response....but I just don't trust him. Count me as dubious about this takeover happening and still worried even if it does happen, until proven otherwise.
